I mean, I hope he sucks because he is not a Chief. I just don't think he is going to suck. I think he's going to be really ****ing good. I also think people have some stupid reasons for thinking he's going to suck. I still hope he sucks.

It's nice, however, to have the best player of all time playing for my team so I can enjoy watching him be good, knowing that he's not a threat.

I don't like the Bears because of that one run that Walter Payton made against us that's always in his highlight films. At this point, it's a mild dislike since over 40 years have passed.

Kinda feel like Mahomes and Williams might be in a few superbowls together if the kid can learn to be humble and grow as a leader.

The sport sure could use that.

He's not "elite" until he proves it in real games. Kylar Murrey won a heisman under Lincoln Riley too. Was picked number one and had a truly elite talent running the ball. With Zona in his third year he took them to 11-6, challenged the Rams and San Fran in his division and got into the playoffs. What makes people think Caleb will do any better than that?

Williams has made two highlights throws down the sidelines which are cool but what happens when he's forced to stay in the pocket? What happens when teams drop eight in coverage and give him nowhere to go? Pat has had to evolve his game several times. Caleb is gonna be asked questions DC's try to ask Pat, Burrow, Allen etc and this is where we'll see if he's elite or not. Hell Stroud and Jordan Love are gonna be under pressure too imo because DC's will know their tendencies now.

Again he can try all he wants to look like Pat, he'll always be a cheap imitation.

Did he really though? Felt like that article put words in his mouth more than anything. It seemed like he just wanted to give props to Stafford, not insult Mahomes

I don't know that he's throwing shade on Mahomes so much as (me speculating) he doesn't think Mahomes is special.

2 years ago he got compared to him and he told the reporter something along the lines of "I don't see anything Mahomes does that I can't do". I then went and posted in some thread in Draft Planet that I was all the way out on Williams. Solely because he was delusional enough to think he could be Mahomes.

Now, he may be Mahomes, but Mahomes got to Mahomes through humility and an incomprehensible amount of hard work, not because he existed.

I may be wrong, but that's the way I saw it at the time. He certainly is talented.

He was asked about Mahomes comparisons over and over and over again. He started by saying that he was flattered but he was Caleb Williams and Mahomes was Mahomes. Then eventually Colin Cowherd asked him about the comparisons and it came to his saying that he views that as respect. But he added that while he's not in Mahomes' brain, he doesn't think there are things Mahomes does physically that he cannot do. So?

I don't think he lacks humility as much as you like to think. And do you really think Williams got to where he was because he existed and not because he too put in an incomprehensible amount of hard work?

This was from an article when he was a sophomore in high school:

Quote:
For Williams, who is 6-foot-1 and weighs 205 pounds, having a trainer has been a part of his life since he was 10 years old. He spends every day of his summer either at Gonzaga workouts, at Athletic Republic with his quarterback trainer Russell Thomas and sports performance trainer Mark McCain, working with his other quarterback coach Chris Baucia, or swimming or doing yoga — two of the many non-football activities he participates in as part of his training.

Could be. I'm open to being wrong.

This was 2 years ago, and it was some USC interview.

I haven't paid attention since. He's most certainly talented. If he can handle the mental stuff and processing, he may well be. But I was taken aback by his comments. Might be off base.
