I do kinda like the idea of getting Pacheco out wide with a head of steam vs. a DB in space.

He'll eventually decapitate someone that way.

If he could go ahead and just take over as Wide Receiver coach this year... I'd be completely on board. I'd like Gruden as a position coach a lot.

He's been with some good QBs, not sure how much credit he really deserves for any of them. He more or less got some good years out of vets more so than ever developing a young guy.

He was the WR coach in GB however and basically turned late round pick Robert Brooks into a high level contributor.

Wiley will be an excellent move/receiving TE and he'll create a lot of matchup issues, being an inline TE though, probably not.

Why? He seems pretty big and strong?

However, i wouldn't be surprised at all to see Hollywood retained. A successful season here doesn't automatically mean he's going to break the bank in the offseason. Teams will more or less still value him as the same guy.

And Kelce will be coming off the books in the next 2-3 seasons. Rice doesn't get paid for another 2 seasons. And we get 5 seasons with Worthy before he has to get paid, and 4 seasons with Wiley, the current presumptive nominee to take over for Kelce.

So there will in fact be a window there for Brown on a reasonable 2-3 year contract.
Very likely, we very well could give him an incentive based contract.

Okay.

I think there are defensive coaches out there in the league who know more about coaching QBs than Jon Gruden

He could be a good inline/blocking TE. He has the frame for it.

Doesn't appear he has the technique and that can be taught. He doesn't shy away from physicality.

It's ludicrous to expect anyone to have a career like Mercedes Lewis, who's friggen 40 years old and still playing quality football. But I think I could see him being a better version of that kind of player. Lewis could really kinda do whatever you needed him to. He was big enough to get inline and be a really nice blocker. He was athletic enough to be a move piece.

He was just never in a system that used him well, IMO.

Maybe Dallas Goedert? Goedert was always a good blocker but better receiver. Dalton Schultz?

Look how thin he is in the lower body, also at least in college he never really broke tackles, first guy usually got him.

Lower body power is usually where good blocking comes from and his frame just isn't that. He's more of a big WR.

No. this is offseason bullshit.

We have padded practice today, a preseason game on saturday, and Gruden isn't employed or going to be employed by this team.

Let's talk more about how Kingsley is developing quickly, almost like he has every physical tool and simply needed his coaching and competition to be raised.
