Can we all agree now, that the myth that Reid can scheme around anything is bullshit?

The injuries of the offensive line, in the end, were just too much. Even for Mahomes.

They ran a Tampa 2 to take away the big plays, and we couldn't pass block, and we couldn't run the ball consistently.

You still have to block. No matter what playmakers you have.

And defensively, the defensive front 7 is need of an infusion of talent too.

The Chiefs need another force up front. Maybe Gay is the upgrade at LB, maybe we need another.

But I don't want to hear any more horseshit about how we shouldn't spend draft resources on the offensive line.

Even Mahomes is still human. Exceptional, yes. But human.

Hated the timeouts the last bit of Q2.
Let the clock run, swallow your pride and go into half down a score.
The 3 position swing along the O-line was a terrible decision. Veach has work to do.

That’s the effect of being aggressive. TB, was happy to run it out, and Andy couldn’t figure out that his D had no answer for TB. Just take your 8 point deficit and be happy you get the ball to start Q3. Like everything else in this game, we just couldn’t get out of our own way. It was a gawdamn mess head to toe on both sides of the ball. Just one of those games.

I didn't necessarily blame him at the time, but looking back this was huge. You go back into the locker room, calm down the defense who were pissed off about the flags, start fresh.

Anyone blaming the defense is a complete and utter moron. They held Tb to just 340 total yards.

340.

that might be the lowest total yards given up in a game for this defense all season. Maybe the lowest ever in a playoff game by any Chiefs defense in the last 40 years.

4-12 on 3rd down.

0-1 on 4th down.

The Chiefs defense did their part to win this game. Go **** yourself sideways if you think our defense let the team down tonight. They came out and played their asses off.

Some of this was definitely on the coaching. Hill said tonight they prepared for TB playing man and Bowles beat them.

9 different OL combinations this season. It finally caught up to us. Most teams wouldn't have been able to string together all the wins this team did losing just one T. I really thought that we'd find a way to scheme around the loss of Fish and Schwartz, but reality caught up to us. Btw, just fyi, no team has ever won a SB after losing both their starting Ts.

I've squawked about this since we started posting about the game. I was deathly afraid of their pass rush. Our Online got abused like a 90 pound pedophile his first week in San Quentin Prison.

Just such an odd game. It's been so long since I've seen Andy Reid get out-coached this badly. Something so fishy about it.
I was screaming all night this, hit more quick slants or seam routes! Failure to run the ball more was a major no no!

OK Brett Veach, now let's fix this OL for the future!

I kind of get what you're saying but at the same time this ain't it.

You can't plan around two OL opting out then three starting OL missing out. Reid made it work really really well with all that until fisher went out. So yeah there is obviously a point where the talent bites it so hard even a genius like Andy can't overcome. But if you get upset about a team whose backups don't perform in a super bowl I think youre reaching.

Our starters would have annihilated Tampa. Our banged up starters WITH Eric Fisher would have been in this.

Yeah I'd say so. I'm pretty disappointed with the game plan and the coaches. I think they lost us the game more than our O-Line an WRs. Tampa practically sat in two-high safety shells the entire game and we had no answer besides Kelce doing his usual improve underneath. Which is fine and all but you can't make that your entire ****ing offense.

Just a total shit show from the coaching staff if you ask me. They flat out looked unprepared.

It started with an assistant coach striking two cars and (possibly) fatally wounding a 5 year old, because he couldn't help himself from boozing 72 hours from the Super Bowl.

The most startling thing to me was the complete lack of adjustments....

It was like we just threw our hands up and said hey eventually the same things will work even though it’s apparent they won’t.

? We adjusted. We moved the ball fairly well the 2nd half despite pressure and are line being awful. We just dropped the ball on some big unbelievable throws and couldn't get TD's all night after drives. Fisher was probably truly the difference of turning some of those into TD's.
