Panthers are trading to QB Teddy Bridgewater to the Broncos for a sixth-round pick, as @TomPelissero reported. Panthers paying Bridgewater $7 million, Broncos paying him $3 million, per source. Trade does not take Denver out of QB market Thursday night, per source. https://twitter.com/AdamSchefter/sta...65026735325189 |

Lock has been injury prone, a turnover machine and arguably a bottom 5 QB last year. Teddy is nothing special but he’s competent and has done a decent job on talented offenses the last 2 years. He’s pretty much a stabilizer like Alex was for us in 2013 |

I disagree. I think it shows they don't trust Lock to be the Alex Smith to Lance if they can get him. I guess we'll see though |

Nothing too glamorous... not a bad price to pay for 2021. Beyond that, who knows and they're still in play for a QB depending on what falls their way. Not a game changer, but at least they're not paying out the nose.

Now there are 2 lockers in the NFL where Teddy's name has been scratched out and Darnold written over it.

Elway has been throwing shit against the wall ever since Manning left, he’s hoping something will eventually stick.
Let’s not forget when he signed Flacco, he said he was still in his prime . |

I mean, it's not a bad move given the draft pick and salary. But man, I don't miss constantly fishing for the next mediocre QB to disappoint us.

The real reason to go with Bridgewater is to limit the turnovers but when not surrounded by top-tier talent like he had with the Saints, he doesn't do that. I mean, in his 2 reasonably healthy years in Minnesota with a decent roster, he had ratings of 88.2 and 85.7. He had QBR's of 54.4 and 57.7. Carolina last year was his highest quality season outside of his stint as the backup in New Orleans and even then, he notched a rating of just 95.7 and a QBR of 64.2. As bad as Lock was last year, Bridgewater simply isn't that much better. |
