Translation: we don’t believe in Lock and he’s not my guy and we have no idea if we’re going to be able to get a QB we want tomorrow so we need insurance.

If they do get a QB tomorrow he’s gonna sit and they’ll be competitive with Teddy

Trey Lance has very little experience but good potential. He’s the most likely option they have if Mac Jones is taken at 3 and Fields gets taken before them by trade up. It would be stupid to throw him out there early.

Their GM drafted Teddy and he’s an average/slightly below average QB so this move makes sense

He's honestly not any better than Lock. Maybe a FEW less turnovers but he also won't push the ball down the field.

If all they need to do was bridge a year to get to Lance, they didn't even need Bridgewater.

I think it tells you they aren't going for a QB.

Most teams don't carry 3 active Qb's. You already have your guy with potential on the roster.

They're not going to just outright cut Lock, and they're not gonna have a 1st round Qb inactive on game days.
