Joe Montana is still the greatest ever....

....and nothing that Peyton Manning does will ever change that.

Manning makes a case for best ever right now. No matter who he's got for Wr's he produces. 2 rookies are kicking ass and we can't draft a WR in 30 years as good as those two. I am a huge Joe fan and he is still number 1 in my book but Petyon is virtually unstoppable the last 5 seasons. If he'd had top 10 defenses he'd have 4 rings by now. Literally the guy has to carry the load for the team every year. 8 years straight they've won 12 games. How rediculous is that.

HELLO!?

someone PLEASE tell me there is a QB out there that has ever played the game better than Peyton Manning...and I'm just talking about on HIS best day...

On Peyton's BEST day...no one compares.

Now...my dad told me something a long time ago about his golf game that kind of stuck with me...his brother (my uncle) is a golf pro and I'd ride/walk along with them when I was 8 or 9 (I didn't play, just watched) and my dad was an above average golfer but nowhere near as good as my uncle...but a lot of the time he would out drive him and hit better shots...and I asked him..."dad, why aren't you as good as your brother? You can hit all the shots..." and he told me the difference between him and my uncle is that his WORST golf shots are still pretty close to as good as his best golf shots...whereas my dad's worst golf shots were really bad, as opposed to not as good as his best...

So if we want to argue that Peyton's bad days are what keeps him from being better than Joe Montana...I guess we can agree to disagree...

but if someone wants to try and tell me that there has been better QB play than Peyton Manning when he's in the zone...then they are just foolish.
I agree. He's at that point where saying so and so was actually better is just not reality. To me nobody is acttually better that P. Manning. Joe is my all time number one but was he actually better than Manning? It's even in my book. They both are the greatest.

Notice how the Brady backers totally ignored that post...

Makes too much sense..

On Peyton's best day, and even on his really good days, and probably even on his good days...he's still better than anyone in the game right now, period.

Elway is way up there at the top of the list.. I think you can take 3-4 names and make very incredibly strong cases as to why they are the best ever. But, I'm content with saying that there are 3-4 that can lay claim to that title... Montana and Elway are two of them, very different QBs... both very deserving.

Peyton is getting up there too, he may be one of the most technically proficient QBs in league history and with what he has done with the likes of Collie and Garcon, well that is now speaking volumes to his carrying a team and rising up those around him.

My list:

1. Joe Montana (steady stream of injuries bothers me though)
2. John Elway (though I'll listen to an argument that puts him at 1 due to durability)
3. Peyton Manning
4. Bart Starr
5. Brett Favre
6. Dan Marino
7. Johnny Unitas
8. Roger Staubach
9. Steve Young
10. Tom Brady

And no, Bradshaw doesn't make my list for precisely the reason listed above -- he won SBs in an era where his team was simply better than everyone elses. He's #11 on there, but any one of the QBs above him would've won those 4 SBs with the team he was on.
Thats a good list. And as for the bold part, you didn't pay much attention to the arguments in the other thread. The argument over Manning/Brady was never about who was better overall, it was about who was better in the post-season. Period. That was my argument. Milkmans, also.

Joe Montana was/is the greatest QB of all time. The title is his alone.

I don't see why everyone hates Terry Bradshaw.

Maybe it's because many of you didn't get to see him play.

The legend of "Joe Cool" 49ers vs Bengels 1989 Super Bowl.

49ers down 16-13 with 3:20 on the clock fourth quarter, ball on own 8 yard line with 92 yards to go. Joe Montana says to his tackle Haris Barton " There in the stands, standing near the exit ramp. Isn't that John Candy?

They drive down the field systematically & Joe pass to John Tayler with 34 sec left TOCUCH DOWN! 49ers win 20 - 16

The greatest QB ever was John Elway. Not Joe Montana, but I listen to the Montana argument. Johnny U is number 2. Then Montana. Then Otto Graham. Then maybe Manning.
