I don't know. But I remember making a thread guaranteeing we were going to finish the season on a big winning streak

I remember making a post that season about drafting the young QB from Texas Tech in a year or two.
Damn, I really thought Davis Webb was gonna be something. |

Yeah Reid wasn’t going anywhere. At this point we are lucky for every good and bad thing that happened over the past few decades. Because of even a single thing had been different we may not have landed the exact draft position that allowed us to focus away from guys like trubisky while having just the right trade capital to trade up for mahomes

It was important for establishing the culture in KC that the playoffs are an expectation.
Before Reid, it was a good season to just make the postseason. |

I hadn’t considered the possibility of Reid getting fired but the answer to any question of the importance of any Chiefs event prior to 4/27/2017 is that it was extremely important. You change even one small outcome and the ramifications could result in us never drafting Mahomes.
All of the heartbreaking losses, worthless seasons, etc. - I wouldn’t change any of it if given the option. |

Those flukey losses early in the season likely gave the Broncos a Super Bowl. I’m at peace with it though due to what’s happened since. |

To answer the OP, Reid was never getting fired after Clark sought him out in 2012 and the team had two winning seasons in 2013 and 2014. |

Broncos relied on defense and Manning was trash that year so they probably don’t advance to the SB that year. We likely didn’t either though, let’s be honest. Most likely scenario there is another Patriots Super Bowl win. Assuming things turned out similarly, Brady’s potentially got 8 rings and a threepeat under his belt. Or maybe with the threepeat completed, he retires after the 2019 season.. Idk. Either way, I like where we are now and I’m OK with letting the Broncos keep that measly SB win in return for three (and counting) for us. Broncos fans have been in hell since that Bowl. |

Funny thing is, now that we’re past it I can admit that 2015 Broncos defense was an all-time unit.
What’s even funnier is that the Alex Smith Chiefs were sort of their kryptonite. We scored above their average PPG allowed on the season in both of our games against them that season. |

They didn’t want to see us. Instead they got the Steelers with a banged up Ben (he got carted off the field the week before) no Leveon Bell, and no Antonio Brown The first time those 3 were healthy for a playoff run was 2016, when we had to face them. |
