He could also be posturing on Twitter as he heads into FA negotiations.
I'll bet BV told him and his agent to test the market and see what money is out there. |

I always liked him and I wish he had a flashier impact this season but I think it's probably best not to extend him.
I hope he lands somewhere and they give him a bloated deal |

Agree with the sentiment of gratitude and go.
The one thing we DO have to learn from the Patriots is not to overvalue players on what they DID but what they'll DO. |

He's going to try the FA market. Doesn't necessarily mean he's gone.

You might have had a very good career, HB. You are probably still better than what may currently be on the roster at the safety position beyond Sneed. But you were never an Ed Reed. |

Now do Frank Clark and Anthony Hitchens.
Yes, I know that it can't be done until the new league year starts. |

Veach isn’t going to wait for him. No way. He’s going to go out and add a stuff safety to this defense and quite possibly draft one, too.

He must have been told the Chiefs didn't want him back for even the low end of the money the Chiefs thought he would get and accept on the FA market.
Unless I am mistake, I don't think he was "cut" since his contract was up. It was actually a good move by the Chiefs to give him and his agent clarity. They could have given him "fake leverage" by pretending to be interested but if the Chiefs played that game as a favor to him, sooner or later word would spread that KC is playing those games. Given the star power and resources put into the offense that side of the ball is more responsible for losing the game given Cincy's secondary played very well in 2nd half but they are still not a great defense. But on defense and offense, KC like every team needs to make prudent decisions that balance short term and long term. |
