Who's fault is this TD score?
I'm not good at distinguishing coverages, but it'd make sense that Thornhill would be helping with McLaurin over the top. Did Ben Nieman blow this coverage? Also 15 was wide the **** open, so it looks like Mike Hughes, I'm assuming he was responsible for 15, was bailed out by his teammates ****ing up. How the **** do we allow 2 guys running wide open when we had 4 guys rushing the QB and 7 dropped into coverage and they only had 3 guys running real routes. Did that fake ass screen route really trick them that bad? Seems like guys didn't have a ****ing clue what they were responsible for and that falls on Spegs. |

It's impossible to know without being privy to the defensive playcall, but based on my limited knowledge of x's and o', I'd guess we were in a pretty basic cover 3.
If true, Hughes would be responsible for that deep third and it appears that he just bit on the fake screen which led to two open men who WFT was flooding his zone with. |

The fact that our DL on that rep was Demone Harris, Khalen Saunders, Derrick Nnadi, and Mike Danna is sheer embarrassment.
God, what is happening. |

Well, without knowing the play call and going by the graphic provided it looked like Hughes and Neimann were caught watching the screen because both 83 and 15 were wide open but if I had to blame one person....

Normally id say you get what you pay for, but the Chiefs never get what they pay for, outside of Mahomes. What was the last big contract the Chiefs gave that actually paid off in its entirety? Frank Clark and Sammy Watkins had big moments in the playoffs, and superbowl win, so if you wanted to say those contracts are already worth it, I couldnt say Id fault you. But theres a helluva lot of games played for those two that they either didnt play, or stole the gamecheck. Jones has been a massive disappointment thusfar, and if throwing your hands up in the air in surprise or playing pitter patter with ball carriers scored points, Mathieu would be up for DPOY. Chiefs pay out and get screwed. Its so annoying to see our bigtime contracts getting hurries and almosts, and you see other teams big money guys just wrecking games. |

This play is in Madden. Used to use it to whoop Clays ass all the time. That guy in the seam is always open. |

Ideally, you would have Sneed stick with 15, and Hughes peel off to play the screen. Worst case, Sneed jams the receiver for the first five yards, then hands off 15 (to Hughes) to play the screen. Neimann needs to get a much deeper drop, and Thornhill chose wrong….he should have come over the top of Seals-Jones with Neimann in front.
Good play call + bad defensive line rotation + miscommunication = 6 points. |

We had 2 linebackers running deep with a WR, when they should be up on the screen. Sneed should be running deep with the receivers instead of jumping the screen.
At least, i hope that our scheme is designed that way. No communication? Don't know their assignments? Sneed has to see the WR in motion and stuff him at the line of scrimmage. Linebackers need to yell out that a WR in motion is coming. I don't know what the term the Chiefs use but i'm sure there's a word they yell. Same ol' shit, really. We do that type of stuff ALL GAME LONG. |

21 & 38 should have dropped with 15 & 83 and let 56 play up on 2.
Instead our DB's covered a RB and let our LB cover 2 guys by himself downfield.... brilliant defensive scheme! |
