Lamar Jackson

I was pretty skeptical about him but he is legit. If the Ravens keep the D up as they always do I can see many battles in the playoffs against them for awhile.

This is a team that can pummel you with the run in any direction even if you throw 8 in the box. There's not really a great solution for him. It worked for us because we got ahead and forced them to play out of their comfort zone. They still moved the ball pretty well on us in the first half. We just made a clutch stop or two.

Mahomes or Jackson...wherever those boys go the system will change to cater to THEM.
Don't entirely agree. I don't think he'd thrive in the Chiefs system. Without a good defense he has to attack with his arm. Without a good run offense the defense can play more contain. It is a mutual fit... He makes the system better and the system makes him better.

Rams did everything wrong. Wade Phillips has been in the NFL too long, hasn't been watching the college games.

Spagnuolo's scheme did the right thing, attack the gaps..blow up the line. Rams spent too much time trying to read the play and react. Nope, if you try to stop everything you stop nothing. Attack the line and get coverage help in the middle of the field.

Even like- Mahomes throwing for 5,000 yards and 50 TD's and Lamar will never touch those passing numbers ever?

Will Mahomes ever rush for 1200 a year like Jackson is on pace for?

Their just two different types of athlete. Right now, both equally dangerous in different ways.

So Lamar is the reason their OL mauls the hell out of the DL and opens massive holes. It’s all Lamar.

I love watching Lamar, but I think the system is going to get him hurt. I think that’s why they have RG3, because he can run the same system. It’s amazing to me LJ takes as many hits as he does and just pops up. I can’t see that lasting due to the sheer strength and size of NfL defenders. The hits always catch up to the players.

This........end of debate. I don't know why it's so hard to give credit where credit is due. Lamar is good: Mahomes is good; They are both in systems that exploit their strengths. The next several years are going to be exciting.

If you actually look at Lamar most of times when he does get tackled he protects himself. He’s hardly ever running in between the tackles. It’s always outside the pocket or when he does back to pass

Every NFL game is different. Each team poses different challenges and sometimes players simply have bad games. You also have to take into consideration injuries, weather, travel time between games, have defenses or offenses figured the team out etc..

Chiefs simply matchup well w the Ravens. Plus, Ravens are on fire right now. They weren't playing as well when they played the Chiefs.

Yes Lamar does protect himself well but as we've seen with Cam lately, those hits add up over time. He got pushed over hard quite a few times last night but he's only been knocked out of one game In his short career and funny enough it was against us last season In over time when our dominant pass rush got to him during their last drive.
