Early AFC Playoff picture

So thru 3 games (we pretty much knew this before the 3 games but anyway) we have a pretty good idea of whats what in the AFC.

But after the big 2, how does every one see the rest of it shaking out?

I think the Colts are the leader of that 2nd tier in the AFC and the Texans are right there.

There is a whole legion of these NE fans...that feel compelled to defend Brady/Kraft. It's a way of self-justifying rooting for a sham dynasty...and tying your identity/esteem to a corrupt football franchise.

I imagine they rationalize the Patriots have never cheated and are just victims...

When NE is attacked...THEY are attacked.

Then you have the one resident Masshole...that just calls people pussies for pointing out the obvious officiating favoritism...that everyone in the world knows exists and is responsible for half of their titles...

Brady has been around for so long and an active part of the Boston culture...that they literally live through him and are scared of what life will be like when he's gone.

I hope in 10 years...that Mahomes doesn't do this to KC.

If the refs do not call a D-hold on Jackson with a few minutes to play on Kelce's fumble (which Hightower recovery and took the ball to your 20), we punch that ball in, go up by two scores with 2 mins to play and the game is over.

So yes Dee Ford's offsides was big in that it cancelled the pick by KC that would of ended the game, as the same time though we Jackson's penalty kept KC alive in the AFCCG.

Either way great game by both teams, came down the to the wire, and both team franchises look to late game penalties that hurt the team's chances.

Nah, it is just interesting to see how many folks want to talk about side issues in an attempt to bring down the Pats.

In 2009 Jets are caught playing with football during the game, no one cares and you can not find an contemporaneous article on the matter cause no one cared. Jets were disciplined. in 2014 Brady is accused of doing the same thing and folks are still talking about it.

BB freely admitted to taping signals from 2000 to 2007 and said he had a different understanding of the rule, NFL disagreed and fined him. Okay check fair enough. The Atlanta Falcons freely admit to pumping in crowd noise, get fine, fair enough. Folks still talk about BB and not one cares about what Atlanta did.

So for most Pats fan, it is tough to other fans too seriously when the Pats are really no different from any other team in the NFL.

\Regarding penalties - the pats play a discipline game. And we get the calls sometimes, sometimes we do not. Just look at the AFCCG. Some folks will complain about the pats getting calls but will ignore the miscall on the KC pick play in the 4th and the ticky tack calls on Jackson in the 4th. Hey, it happens to both sides and each fan base will think it is getting the short end of the stick. Sometimes you get the call sometimes you do not get the call.

Regarding the playoffs, the Chiefs took a big step on Sunday with the win over Baltimore, that is great. With how the AFCN is shaping up looks like Baltimore might win that division and KC now has the tie breaker against them, so that is a big plus.

Hopefully for KC and NE each team will get a bye, but time will tell there is a lot of football to play.

KC is looking great and have taking up were they left off from last year and that is great for KC.

No...hopefully the Patriots team plane crashes and removes those cheating, corrupt scumbags from the earth..

People would be "wow, that's awful"...while secretly saying "**** yes, there is a god".

Nobody wants to watch 42 year old Brady lumbering around... clinging to his youth by drinking sacrificial infant blood while the refs try to appease little "bobby" sex trafficker's "shortman" compensation.

It's like in Breaking Bad...when his son says "Just die already".

For a sport that you think is intentionally rigged by the Illuminati, you seem to be pretty passionate (read: insane) about rooting for your team. Don't you know you're doomed? Kraft and his fellow owners have conspired -- alongside Goodell, vampires and genetics researchers -- to create a perpetual and unkillable victory machine that will roll relentlessly over the bodies of your poor team and the other 31 innocent victims.

Or something...

I agree with you that many folks are tired of the Pats always being around. And I understand the frustration of "isn't it over yet". And agree on one level that some of things we cited about the Pats only make folks even more angry and frustrated, so no argument here. And BB's attitude to the press doesn't help, although i agree with how he does it.

But what goes around comes around. I have been watching sports since the early 1970s and we here in Boston have been on the other side of the coin from pretty much that entire time up to 2001, so 30 years of my sports fandom has been series of close calls, we will get them next year, and looking up to other cities with the champions.

True the run is longer than most runs, but some of us have had the depths of despair too.

Great thing for you guys is you got a 24 year Mahomes and so much to look forward to in the upcoming year. You are just starting your run.

And yes we are glad that Brady is on the infant blood diet.

You can count me in as a Mahomes fan, I will be following him and the Chiefs.

I am also a big fan of Reid, he does not get as much credit as he deserves sometimes.

For Kc and NE this is just kind of a get thru the year without major injuries kinda thing.

What do you guys think gets the 1 seed record wise? Gonna take 14 this year?

Yep. NE and KC are strong. VERY strong. Looks like a 2004-type season all over again when the 14-2 Pats had to travel to the 15-1 Steelers. Since the Pats and KC play each other this season, and the winner gets the tie breaker, that could easily decide HFA, either by giving the victor that extra win, or giving them the tie-breaker.

(and the Pats lost to the Steelers in 2004 regular season to put the AFCCG at Heinz Field, where the Pats won)
