Off Season Lets Talk Guns, Part 2

Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.

Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?

Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware?

Nice looking setup. What glass do you have on it? Hmm..will have to keep an eye their stock. Got some tax refund headed my way..lol

Not all AR10s are created equally. I have a couple Armalite AR-10 National Matches that will shoot 3/4” groups and can barely carry supersonic rounds to 1000.

Armalite “lost” the competition for the .308 semi auto sniper rifle military contract to Knights Armament, but their rifles are of much higher quality. A knights might hit sub 1.5 groups.

Paid a visit to my gunsmith today, and as he has so often done in the past, he showed me something that belonged to another customer that I had no idea I needed until I saw it.

https://www.rainierarms.com/rainier-...tch-5-56-rail/

14" rail weighs 11.6 ounces, with a 1.6 ounce barrel nut. Pull the lever and it slides right off with no tools needed. It will soon be replacing the Sampson rail on my 16" AR, which is nice, but is much heavier than I'd like.

Why'd you have to show that to me, dammit! Why?

It's a Nikon M-308, BDC reticle out to 800 yards. The mount is a M-308 20 MOA one-piece.

The extra length is a sunshade.

A buddy wants to sell me a semi-auto Ithaca 12 guage that looks about like this with a 2 and 3/4 barrel instead of 3 for $200... is that a fair deal?

Love the old Thunderbolts

If I had all the bullets I shot of those growing up I would be able to buy a brand new truck

Not a bad deal IMHO. I had one of those as a kid and dropped a lot of ducks and pheasant with it.

I like the deal. Believe it or not it doesn't take a 3 or 3 1/2" shell to kill critters with a shotgun. Just like any other firearm the more you practice the better you get. Sporting clays is a lot of fun if you're near a range.

Thanks for the honest assessments, it sounds like a square deal... might just have to nab it
