Tyreek has said a lot of shit that pisses me off since he left KC. But at a time when he could have easily played victim he was pretty respectful and didn't really throw stones. He's the cockiest man alive but not sure how you get thug out of that interview

Reckless driving, with no bodily contact, is a 2nd-degree misdemeanor in Florida and not a small traffic infraction put out by Hill's agent. It is an arrestable offense, and they had every right to pull him out of his vehicle and detain him. Depending on the circumstances of the crime and stop, the officers likely have some leeway. I IMAGINE his attitude was the reason for being cuffed on the ground and not a more respectful way.
I can't wait for the body cam footage, but I imagine they were going to arrest him due to the severity of the reckless driving or his attitude during the stop on top of the crime. Then someone realized who it was and where he was going and ultimately decided to cite him and let him go. |

We'll see as the story gets out what the story was, but there wasn't anything too bad in any of his comments. |

Fact of the matter is - you’re right. Tyreek could have gone off on a ACAB rant, could have manufactured a grandiose version of what happened, etc. But that last statement, although naive, was very thoughtful. Let’s let a bad situation turn out a positive for both sides. That’s thuggish? |

According to Jeff Darlington, tyreek was hit with careless driving (which is less serious than reckless driving) and a seat belt violation. We already know it's highly unlikely he was under the influence. So it looks like this was a traffic stop. Even if it was it doesn't mean you need to cuff him and detain him instead of dealing with it later. For them to pull him out of the car, take the extra step to throw him to the ground, cuff him, then detain him... It's possible he did enough to provoke it but it would have to be a loit. Just issue the citation and send him on his way. He's an athlete and you know he's not gonna skip practice to dodge a ticket. Yeah this really matters because we've already seen two athletes almost miss out on games for this, one was already found to be blatantly innocent. And I'm sure none of us want to see a chiefs player get caught up on this. |

Also there is some video (not sure if legit) that seems to show the noncompliance in question was because he lowered his window but not all the way. Which quickly escalated to asking him to rolling it down all the way, and then being asked to step out of the vehicle. Doesn't show what happened from there.

Police union is now claiming Tyreek was uncooperative. Following chain of events, he was handcuffed because he was uncooperative. Thrown to the ground because he didn't like being cuffed. Detained because he was cuffed and uncooperative. So this has nothing to do with the infraction itself. So the question is purely on whether tyreeks reaction at each of these steps was substantial enough to justify each reaction.

He wouldnt roll his window down far enough? Are you kidding me? Of course this warrants pulling him out of his car, slamming him to the ground and handcuffing him.
He got schefflered. |

More people should give cops a hard time, IMO.
