I may have posted this before but getting old isn't all bad. For one thing it doesn't last long.

I follow and Instagram profile called Iamthirtyaf and it's complaints about being 30-something.
Lot of posts about not wanting to go out nor stay up late or being sore when you wake up. the complaints about having to do things with your kids/take then places/events etc. I roll my eyes and wish I cold go back to those times. I'm like "you have no idea." |

I don’t have a family or anything like that outside of my folks. No partner and I live on disability. I had a few major medical problems at 18 and never really recovered. I’m not undermining your point but the 18-30 part of my life has truly been bad. I’d give anything to be able to have a wife and kid to take somewhere. Maybe too dark and personal for this board but I felt like saying it |

FWIW, I went from my 'finally quit smoking' size 54 pants to this week's size 42. Down 110 lbs, yay me! I did a lot walking and 'rucking' - or walking w/a weighted rucksack (double bagged yellow split peas that I ate as 'dal w/Spinach' later) Bought a couple 3 kettle bells, a few dumb bells and a '7 lb mace' (FYI, I say go buy a good sledge hammer or splitting maul and do the 'mace moves' - and split some firewood or bash a fencepost.) But here you go: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=McXi57CgcBc.
I also use my 'garage sale' Indian clubs during commercials on tv - https://www.youtube.com/shorts/qk2fbkjYNBA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PlXdqTZYDOU - At end of night I've burned calories for 25 - 30 minutes. No big 'weight loss' from Indian Clubs - but my neck, shoulders and back benefit and my arms/shoulders stay 'toned'. And your forearms stay 'stout'. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PlXdqTZYDOU I keep samurai swords I learned to use in the 60s'/70s taking Okinawan Kempo. I won't tell you that you need to learn Kempo or buy swords. But don't break in at my place. Remember - we're in it for the long haul. Eat a 'mediteranean' diet (Sardines in hot sauce or olive oil, always stocked up - keep a lot of canned garbanzos and 'store brand' low sodium canned soup on hand), given a choice, and remember kids - move it or lose it. And if the other guy pulls it out and wiggles it at you - it's kind of nice to have that samurai sword handy. Even if a gelding wins the Derby...he's a gelding.
