*****The Patrick Mahomes Thread*****
IT ****ING HAPPENED
OP UPDATE: Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy! Last edited by Dante84; 05-17-2017 at 09:40 AM.. |

I think it’s mostly related to the mental side of the game. The game really slows down for those QBs once they reach their 30s. They’ve seen it all and done it all, they know every defensive look in the book and how to counter things faster.

Pugs is correct. The prime for most “good” QBs is 29-33.
QB is the most mental position in all of sports. It requires maturity and experience to be at an elite level. The Hall of Famers tend to get it down quicker. 26 years old range. Big difference between instinctive positions and mental positions. For example a RB can step in day one and succeed. Same for a CB. Those are instinctive positions primarily. |

I personally love the Favre comparisons. Athletically and the ability to improvise I think that is correct but that's where the comparison stops. However he has things Favre never had. Mahomes is Favre with a brain and work ethic.

It's far far easier to play QB in the NFL today as a rookie than it was 20 years ago. If you throw 20 picks in the NFL these days you are garbage. With Andy Reid as his coach there should be no reason he ever approaches 20 picks. |

Favre built himself into the best player in the game in the mid 90s, winning 3 straight MVPs and a Superbowl. Athletic, quick, strong, tough. |

His girlfriend is an alright follow on IG. I literally only follow her to keep tabs on my man. But she's occasionally not bad to look at, and their Pitbull named Steel is pretty adorable.
I admire Pat. He met her in HS. Went to TT, and was the man of the campus. Drafted to the NFL, etc. And still kept the same girl. That's some maturity. The gosh darn Brett Favre comparisons just never end. |
