These are the sort of signings we'll see. Guys pining for aging all-pros are going to be disappointed.

Imagine if those gambles had hit and Toney had developed into his potential while MVS improved on who he was in GB. If Skyy could just be McCluster. lol

Instead, Toney had 4 drops in the opener and never mentally recovered.

Skyy will get another chance, but I think he will need to show big time improvement to make the final 53 man roster next year. Dude looks like a bust. This is his offseason to put in the work to know where to be if he wants to continue to be a Chief. You can tell Pat doesn’t want Skyy or Toney to be here.

I can feel a “house cleaning” coming on at the WR position, similar to what happened with the OL 3 years ago. The secondary a couple years ago…the linebackers the last couple years. Veach just attacks a position group and I can see him doing so at WR over the next couple years, aggressively.
Definitely.

Would love Evans to have Evans. If he hadn't already won an SB in Tampa he might be more motivated to sign for a cheaper deal or less years with the Chiefs to chase the HOF. Wouldn't count on it but Evans is just a consummate professional of the WR position.

Last year's WR group is more proof that camp reports are worthless. Spread em out! 5 wide! Too much talent! 7 deep with studs! Improved! Mahomes 55TD!!!

Didn't matter in the end, but it was hilarious how dipshit homer writers pegged them as something they weren't.

Yes that certainly would have been nice to have. Cheap contract. Its going to be difficult to convince Chiefsplanet that the Chiefs front office significantly ****ed up last year on WR evaluation.

We can admit it. We stole one last year. It was by far the worst offense we've had when Mahomes was here. We kept forcing Skyy and Toney on Mahomes all year when it was obvious they arent NFL players. It wasn't until they got hurt and benched until we began to fly. Thielen would have made things easier.

No, we didn't "steal one". We had the best defense in the NFL last year. You're allowed to win SBs with a great QB and defense.

Obviously, great defense is hard to sustain year to year, hence why long term, stacking up at WR was always the best way forward.

I guess the post season is where I think we "stole it". That was a meat grinder man. That is the toughest road possible. Even if the Chiefs were the best team (after benching Skyy and Toney) they still were unlikely to make it.

I just think if we didn't play Skyy or Toney one snap and we had Thielen (or some other decent WR instead play a big role) the team would have had 3 to 4 more regular season wins and possible coasted to the SB. Either way it was the more fun rides as it turned out in a fan sense.
