You give up a 6th to jump the line on a guy that's going to get cut and then you just never give him a sniff. Has he even been on the gameday roster at any point? Almost feels like a deal they made for next year at this point. But if you're going to do that, were they really that certain in the summer of '23 that they couldn't get a DT in the fall of '24 with the 6th rounder that was as likely to play as Neil Farrell? Or did they just misfire? Maybe the kid was lazy or stupid, the Raiders knew it based on a year on their roster and we just didn't. I dunno - doesn't take a rocket surgeon to be a defensive tackle. Just seems like they'd have given him some run by now. But him and Coburn just stayed completely buried. |

But I think the other bridges are burned. We have a few games to see if James and Ross will work. If they don’t, we stick with 2-3 TE sets and do more pro set with WRs as decoys. there really isn’t a better option except to throw guys on the field we know mahomes may never trust again |

Can we stop acting like he's some delicate flower? Lord fellas - if his constitution is as weak as you guys are making it out to be, this GOAT stuff we all expect to happen over the next decade is dead in the womb. Seasons like this happen to every QB. Sometimes multiple seasons. And we have people wanting to treat him like a toddler with a skinned knee. Oh the poor dear - I'm so sorry this has happened to you... |

Maybe when a guy who has been nothing but an extreme professional and has beyond patient all season long blows up two weeks in a row, it’s time to listen instead of telling him to sack up. we all know this isn’t just dealing with a little adversity. This isn’t an issue of elevating lack of talent. Every time you ask mahomes to trust WRs with a high likelihood of costly screw ups you are forcing him to make bad decisions. At some point the science experiment has to end and the very least we can do is give mahomes a plan and ****ing stick with it. At this point in the season just get the guys who can best execute and stop trying to make it work with guys who’ve repeatedly shown they can’t be trusted. We’re at the stage where it’s not even fool me 3 times. It’s fool me 15 times. |

No, the 'science experiment' will never end. I mean maybe if you're lucky and you manage to draft back to back hall of fame caliber receivers like Harrison and Reggie Wayne but no, by and large QBs will have to deal with roster churn their entire careers. And it will be among their skill position players. Mahomes got 4 years with Hill and Kelce - more than many get. He's played his entire career with Kelce and VERY few QBs (any?) have ever gotten that level of consistent production from any weapon, TE or otherwise for a period as long as Mahomes has gotten. It's the nature of being a QB. QBs have 10-15 year NFL careers. Some longer than that even. And their skill guys are going to have 3-5 years at/near their peaks for the most part. A quarterback is likely to see 3 and maybe 4 'eras' in their career and in each era they're going to have to develop a new normal with the weapons they have. It's silly to sit here and act like asking Mahomes to work through a rebuilding of his weapons over a season or even 3 is some unreasonable ask. It's what happens in this league to everyone. Quarterbacks outlast their weapons. |

If the only guys he can trust are a first ballot HOF WR'er and the greatest TE of all time, well **** we may in fact have an issue.

Wouldn't matter. He wouldn't learn Andy's playbook in time. I get the argument for maybe not added a guy at the trade deadline (not that I necessarily agree) but why not add somebody not a current roster at that time. I dunno maybe Ross's suspension kinda threw a wrench in the plans. But it'd be nice to know what we have there...
