True, but an injury and a suspension played a role there as well.

They changed their entire defensive staff leading to that...unless Andy Reid is gonna fire the entire offensive staff don't expect that.

not even close... Moore is a huge disappointment, but still has had his moments. Punt return in AFCCG as one of them.

They're not going to do that...and yes they won't give up on Moore, there's no way.

MVS and Hardman are probably toast, James probably is too the rest of those guys will be back.

Personally, I wouldn't be shocked to see them all back except MVS.

They don't have the resources to turn over the entire room.

I don't get why not.

Skyy Moore is the Green Bay's Amari Rodgers except they had the sense to cut him after 1 year.

So, no matter what, we're looking at Rice/Skyy/Toney as the core of our WR room next season.
And Watson is cheap and signed a two year deal, so he will be here, too. But they will add a quality guy, and that's going to be enough.

This.

The only distinction I would see between Speaks and Moore is that I think Speaks flat didn't give a shit. Dude showed up fat with a new defensive coordinator. You do that and you've poisoned the well.

I don't get the impression that Moore is indifferent - more that he's just stupid and lacks talent. Should the why of it matter? Eh - not really. But it usually does.

Training can make a stupid person look smart, at least in that particular area. But it's wasted on lazy. Coaches think they can fix stupid - they won't even try to fix lazy.

Speaks was lazy.

Rice, Toney, Moore, Watson,, Ross, and MVS are all currently under contract for next year. Pretty confident you can pencil in MVS as a cut but other than that who knows. Except for Rice, obviously

I basically have them letting the FA's go and cutting MVS.

I mean what do people expect here?

You think they're gonna go sign Mike Evans and draft Rome Odunze?

They actually changed their scheme to a system that would be MORE conducive to Speaks having success. He never had a chance to succeed as a 3-4 OLB. Nowhere near the burst or agility necessary.

He had a shot at succeeding in the Mike Danna role. He was just too damn lazy.

I think the Chiefs actually had a plan for Speaks until they saw him during OTAs. At that point I believe they started looking for the off-ramp. The injury (born of being fat and lazy) plus the suspension (from, IIRC, a weight loss supplement designed to address the fat and lazy) made it REALLY easy for them.

Sure they do.

1st and 3rd round pick, FA acquisition that costs a bit and another one looking for a pillow or make-good contract.

You could pump 4 new bodies into this WR room fairly easily. Especially if Morris sticks at LT.

Watson's cheap depth. Rice is obviously a keeper. Toney would also probably qualify as cheap depth. So that leaves 3 spots with a 4th that could bump someone off the roster. That's pretty doable.
