They can’t get open, they drop passes in their hands, their jet sweeps are slow and terrible. These guys are not good.

I'd love to know what happened to this guy. He was having such a good first half of the season.

Teams probably figured out how to defend the 3 routes he can run well, or something. I haven't seen him do a damn thing this year that wasn't a deep cross, corner or go.

The biggest biggest thing that changed is that defenses adapted to us. And that’s not ideal when our players are dependent on scheme to get them open and when they don’t have the flexibility to do anything else. All Toney can do is catch and run. All Mvs can do is clear out routes. Is it a surprise we don’t have flexibility to adapt? We’ve got a bunch of role players and defenses took away the one thing these guys do best.

So it isn’t always necessarily about talent, it’s having the right talent to beat what defenses throw at you. We didn’t have it 2 years ago, we adapted to have it last year, and now we don’t have it again. And Reid and veach are brilliant enough that we’ll have it again next year. That’s what happens when every team has a bullseye on our back. This is a good lesson that in the future we need to anticipate these arrows instead of waiting the last minute to dodge them
Part of the problem is that there has been zero pipeline for WR's here.

Hardman was a gadget guy they never resigned, Skyy Moore a bust. Rice looks like 1 player in 6 Veach drafts that can play WR in the NFL. That's not enough, especially if you decide that signing a player like DHop at under a 10 million cap hit this year is too rich for your taste.

How are you going to stock the positions if you don't draft or sign anyone?

So it's misfit toys and cheap swings that are expected to pan out and then people are shocked that shitty players aren't now good?!

But we’ve been down this road before. Everyone thought bleymeier and eb were complete dog shit. It turns out when you run the right scheme with the right players they look pretty good. Even if we had tyreek we had the wrong personnel for deep zone.

And I’d imagine a lot of these problems go away when you give these coaches talent. Not because our assistants are any good but because Andy is that damn good. Our WRs on the other hand… who do we see succeeding in another system outside of rice? They’re going to have the same damn problems with inconsistency no matter who is coaching them.

So yeah, coaching needs to be better. But the root cause is talent. Hands down

Alright, where in the **** does this bullshit narrative about 2021 stem from, because it's ****ing ridiculous. We scored MORE in 2021 than 2022, and there was a 4 year stretch where the PPG didn't change to any meaningful extent. Since Mahomes has started we had that insane 2018 offense that was at about 34 PPG, from 2019 to 2022 it's hovered right around 29, and this year it's plummeted to 22.5.

I also don’t think he does as much as people think. Andy is a micromanager on offense and has his hands on everything. I’d be stunned if with all these WR struggles bleymeier hasn’t been pulled in to help too. I don’t have much faith in embree but I don’t buy that an Andy Reid offense isn’t giving these guys plenty of quality coaching even if it’s not directly from embree

Because the offense was an inconsistent shit show for the first 9 games of the season.

They figured it out, this team hasn't, and now it's too late.

Watson was a nice bottom of the roster guy that could make a nice play now and then.

The problem this year was because no one else was here he got elevated to much more and was at times the #1 WR here. That wasn't going to work and it doesn't matter what his role is next year as long as it not a plan to be a #1, #2, or #3 WR here.

We did a lot of damage but it was player dependent, not scheme. And tyreek and kelce are good enough to annihilate you on their own. But we also had trash WRs and a bad running game. The entire offense was built around speed speed speed when defenses were daring us to run and move the ball downfield in chunks.

This year we’re back to defenses keeping everything in front of them and daring passing offenses to be more aggressive. The difference is this year we don’t have generational talents who can hide our WR imperfections

I'm rooting for Justyn Ross to take Skyy Moore's snaps. Literally cannot do any worse.

Moore and MVS should not play a single snap going forward. They've done quite enough to prove they're a part of the problem, not the solution. Force feed James and Ross and see if there's ANY potential there for a reliable #3/#4. That's all we ****ing need. Kelce is #1 and Rice is #2. Take Rice off that gadget shit and actually let him get downfield and play. He's by far the best WR we have at it and the training wheels need to come off immediately. Let Hardman and Toney handle the gimmick shit together. And can we at least TRY to get Pacheco, Gray, and CEH more involved in the passing game.

You're going to need a deep zone threat in that scenario. I 'd reallocate Hardman for that role (MVS/Wat's routes), ymmv about exactly who, but regardless, someone fast needs to be running those deep routes.

They in fact did not figure it out. The offense fell into the same shit in the 2nd half of the championship game.

And the board wanted EB gone

That right there is the problem with most all our WR's. They're all role player JAGS, who were expected to do more and can't. Combine that with an inexperienced WR Coach and an OC who isn't the stickler for details (and I'm being kind when it comes to Nagy), and we got what we have.
