They can’t get open, they drop passes in their hands, their jet sweeps are slow and terrible. These guys are not good.

He's definitely not been as good as previous years. I do think the WR's are a part of that though.

I believe the front office thought that Patrick could make this WR corps work one more year while they built the offense. Really think they thought it would be similar with Rice replacing Juju.

Mahomes and the offense are down in several major statistical categories from every other year since he’s been the starting QB.

Did Mahomes suddenly forget how to play the position at an elite level?

Nobody has their best year every year.

This isn't Mahomes best year.

It's not that complicated.

Expecting he can do that every game is not realistic.

So what needs to happen now is to remove Skyy Moore from the field and limit throws to MVS on critical downs.

Get Rice and Watson and Toney and Gray as your passing game targets.

Run the ball out of two tight end sets and play action when appropriate.

Mahomes will also have to take off when there’s space because with limited WRs and tackles that get flagged one holding call kills a drive.

Play defense , let Mahomes game manage and try to win like an older Alex Smith team.
Both are brokedicks WR's that shouldn't be on the field. Last i saw PM's rating when targeting those two is on the same level of QB play as Mac Jones.

The last year that Mahomes "struggled" was 2021 when defenses adjusted to us and took away the verticals that Mahomes and Reid were addicted to.

Manhomes still threw 37 Touchdowns.

He also had weapons to throw to.

It's staggering how poorly this offense works when it's trying to use Moore. They just have to pull the plug on that experiment. As you noted, there's simply no evidence in 30+ NFL games that it's going to work at this point.

He's not an NFL caliber receiver.
IMOP this is easily the most frustrating thing about our struggles. WTF do they continue to trot Skyy out there? It's obvious any of the other WRs could play just as well or better than him. I was hoping that decent game we got from him against the Chargers last year was a glimpse of the future for him, but at this point we have a big enough sample size. He is what we've seen and that's what he'll be going forward. I just can't seem to get a grasp on the logic behind it.

What do you think it is DJ? Do you think it's just because they invested a 2nd round pick on him? Does Andy really think Skyy can improve enough to be a legit WR? Do they think he's the best option out of a bunch of scrub WRs?

Has anyone posted the WR snap counts from the fudge packers game yet?

If they leave their big personnel in to cover the two TE's, Kelce and Gray will eat. if they go nickel, Pacheco will eat.

Use play-action to get the easy reads. Quit out-smarting yourself.
Exactly. The solutions seem fairly obvious.

Perhaps it's time to give defensive coordinators a little credit? After watching the Chiefs shred defenses, perhaps they are changing things up and giving looks that aren't what they appear to be. It's hard to believe that because when Patrick was on MNF with the Mannings, he was calling defensive alignments and plays. Maybe teams install these wrinkles for the Chiefs.

Maybe the pressure to keep improving is causing him to second guess himself and not make those throws we are so used to seeing him make. Realistically, when you are the best at what you do, how do you continue to improve? Who, other than yourself, is there to push you to be better? I have no idea because I've never been the best at anything.

Gun to my head, they're as frustrated as we are.

He HAS to be showing them something in practice. Has to be. Nothing else makes sense.

And when the lights come on he shits the bed. And with a relative dearth of options, they just keep sending him out there hoping that he'll show them on them on gamedays what he shows them on Wednesdays.

He may just be the classic "5 o'clock hitter" and that's been enough to keep him in the lineup with nobody behind him really pushing him out of the way.

If anyone has a better option, I'm all ears. Because it can't be "well he's a good blocker" because all it takes for a WR to be a 'good' blocker is to kinda get in the way. And all that means is you're a willing blocker. But I don't think there's a dime's worth of difference between a 'good' blocker that's trying hard and a 'bad' blocker that's trying hard. Not at WR.

And to be completely honest, I've seen enough instances of Moore NOT trying hard to suggest that this is another 'Clark sets the edge' scenario. The close cousin of Nichol's Law of Catcher Defense. "Well he sure as shit isn't catching passes so he MUST be blocking well or why else would he be out there?"
