They can’t get open, they drop passes in their hands, their jet sweeps are slow and terrible. These guys are not good.

It's a lot easier for the other WRs to get open when Tyreek is on the field.

So you can't really compare.

Karlaftis is gonna take over the lead role. He's grown to be a 10+ sack ass kicker. Omenihu is good, FAU was a first rd pick. They also picked BJ Thompson and Keondre Coburn to develop. They knew Jones could leave in 2024 and are preparing.

Get Sneed tagged/extended and bring one of Gay/Tranquill back while we go after a couple solid WR's (Mooney for example), you could easily draft a 1st rd WR from this excellent class and use the 2nd rd to find another DL

Yes, it clearly has little to do with the quarterback making 60 million dollars a year.
They built their WR room in 2021 around burners because it worked for years until defenses found an adjustment in 2020 and we stuck with it in 2021. We adjusted to the adjustment in 2022 and loaded up on catch and run and guys and specialized depth. this year we need to be opening up the offense and we don’t have the right guys to do it. In both instances we doubled down on to break a tendency that no longer exists. Our offense needs to evolve and it will need to wait til the offseason to find the right guys to do that

2. Defenses do not fear our intermediate and deep passing game and are daring Mahomes and our wide receivers to make plays.

3. Wide receivers have not been up to the task, and as a result, Mahomes has lost confidence in his receivers and is not targeting intermediate and deep throws when he should. The problem has been exacerbated.

4. The coaching staff (many of them in new positions and without EB) has failed to build confidence and chemistry between Mahomes and the receivers, especially on the intermediate and deep routes. They've failed in practice, game planning, and in-game calls and adjustments.

Adding OBJ and Zay Flowers in one offseason is far better than what Veach has done in 6 years here at skill position.

All he did is trade a HOF unicorn and ultimately replace him with a 2nd round WR from a small school who is now our new gadget/YAC guy.

It's not just the top end talent. The depth sucks too. Devin Duvernay would be useful here and is barely used now in Baltimore.
Sounds like you would rather be a Raven fan and be disappointed when that great roster pisses themselves in the playoffs again...

This is true, and I have said so for awhile. Even if it is a trust thing, if he is the GOAT, which I think he is, he needs to overcome it an make the throws. I am confident he will and it is why I'm not panicking. And to be clear, the WR's and their drops, have caused some of the hesitation, but he needs to be the leader that get's us out of the funk. His last two picks were atrocious decisions/throws , and watching the All-22 on the first drive Sunday Night, he needed to hit his 3 step drop and hit Pacheco, who appeared to be the read/play. The WR's questionable play has caused to much mental thinking and not enough instinctual play. I think we will get there, but to blame only the WR's is wrong. We should also hope it's wrong, because that says Pat is average unless he has great talent around him, and he's not average.

When your GOAT QB is not looking like himself-

And your young WR corps built of high draft picks and a couple of serviceable veterans ALL appear to have seriously regressed in what should be a more familiar second season in the offense-

And your OT's lead the league in penalties-

And your previous OC was a notorious hard-ass, who's detail oriented approach sometimes rubbed players the wrong way is replaced with a buddy coach-

and your previous WR coach who got almost this exact group serviceable enough to be the #1 offense in football in just about any meaningful category INCLUDING explosive plays is replaced by a 'quality control' guy-

I'm thinking it's the difference in the coaching staff underneath Andy.

What you're describing here is.....well it's the ****ing NFL. One pick for one spot is a pick not spent on another part.

I'd rather just build a great offense and not play defense at all so some of you will just shut the **** up about "spending a smidge less" on the defense. You want them to get ahead of some of those decisions on the interior OL and DL, then bitch about them taking a DE in the first last year that isn't playing much this year who's going to be expected to step in and play for FA's that walk.
taking a small step back doesn’t mean giving up 30 points a game. if we spent the next 1-2 years prioritizing the offense, I’m fine with doing it at the expense of defense provided that we still try to build a great defense.

Keondre Coburn, who they released then resigned?

I mean if they prepared for Jones to leave by doing the drafting they did, what does all the drafting in the secondary say about the possibility of Sneed leaving?

Our WRs have not regressed. They’ve regressed to the mean. Which is that most of these guys were not very good when we got them.

We don’t need to overthink this. Our WRs flat out aren’t good. We probably caught some lightning in a bottle last year and had the perfect scheme for what defenses gave us last year. And we aren’t getting that this year. Defenses are better prepared, kelce hasn’t been 100% and our WRs need to do more, all our WRs are elevated to roles beyond their abilities because we haven’t filled the juju void either because we don’t trust rashee to or we just can’t.

It isn’t a question of if our WRs aren’t any good, it’s asking why the entire team from Reid to Nagy to embree to mahomes aren’t elevating them. That should tell you what you need to know.

We don't have a young WR corp.

We have Rashee Rice who is a nice athlete that they are using as ANOTHER gadget guy right now.

Skyy Moore is a bust, doesn't matter that he went in the 2nd round. I can name 5-6 guys that were drafted later than him last 2 years that are all way better.

MVS isn't a serviceable anything right now because he is a one trick pony and the trick isn't very good. That's running down the field and not tracking a football which he has never been good at, Green Bay including.

Justin Watson is a bottom of the barrel roster/depth guy who would not be on the field on most any other team unless they had injuries. He can be our Allen Lazard of the Jets who sucks but at least ours isn't getting 10 million a year.

Then we have 3 more gadget guys that play a few snaps when they are not hurt in Toney, James, and Hardman.

That's garbage.

Can we coach the garbage up better? Sure but how much does it move the needle? Not much.

The only reason why this is not NFL bottom is because Mahomes manufactures some stuff on his own.

Why should NFL defenses not have their way with this group? Where is the threat or danger?
