They can’t get open, they drop passes in their hands, their jet sweeps are slow and terrible. These guys are not good.

This idea that KC can't sign older players is stupid. Patriots who we are supposedly emulating did it all the time. They just tried to control costs and time carefully so signing older guys who can still play is fine if the contract is 1-2 years.

OBJ sucks but he wouod be a 950 yard WR here. You don't need to be very good to have success here.

We just need to make Rice #1 and roll with the siamese twins of Toney and Hardman. Play Toney now until he gets hurt then bring in Hardman.

Framing indeed.

My point was he traded away offensive talent in Hill, let JuJu walk and this year replaced poorly while Baltimore was adding offensive talent this offseason.
The huge mistake was giving Pat a new deal when we had the best situation in the NFL.

But we could have given him that deal in a way that still benefited us. He could have had the same numbers the same 3 years he has now except we would get some salary cap relief this year. Makes no sense why we didn't do that in order to add somebody.

It's crazy seeing Brock Purdy playing the same offense as Mahomes and now being callled a MVP favorite due to his players getting YAC.

Guy had 27 passes yesterday and 26 of them were 15 yards or less

They can still move $$$ as before.

Look at his cap hits.

2024 57 million

2025 60 million

2026 63 million

2027 59 million

2028 27 million

2029 34 million

2030 45 million

2031 48 million

From a managing the team aspect the 28-31 cap hits would be better now and then the 60 million cap hits later for two reasons.

1. Cap will keep going up

2. Top stars were traded or about to age out or will move on

These include Chris Jones, Tyreek Hill aren't getting paid. Thuney will be gone and he is 26 million next year. Kelce near the end, etc

Not sure why they are reversed but maybe this was done to max cash flow now to Mahomes earlier? But regardless of why it was done they should just move the money forward and keep Mahomes at 40-45 million next 2 years. Then push higher as the top of our roster leaves and cap increases.

Yeah….

And because he has a pro bowlers and all pros across his offense it’s very efficient. I would love people to say this about mahomes this year.

The problem is coaching decisions on players on field and what they do. Taking Pop/Rice/Kelce off the field at all inside the red zone should be punishable. Oh and we don’t have All Pro LT, All Pro RB, All pro WR, Pro Bowl WR, and all pro TE to top it off

Remember the dumbshits here who were vehemently against the Chiefs trading for a WR upgrade (i.e. not just bringing back Hardman) actually thought that MVS, Skyy Less and Toney would improve/“develop” as the season progressed.

If anything those three have gotten WORSE.
They haven't gotten worse. They are what they are. What I was getting at is that they are all being asked to do more than they were last year, because we had Travis and Juju.

Now, it's Travis and ......all those guys. That are being asked to do way more than last year, which they aren't capable of.

So it's not that they are WORSE, it's that they aren't capable of what they are being asked to do at a higher level.

.

That.

Been saying this about the WRs since last season. They plateaued at JAG level around Week 13 or whatever, and stayed at that level for the rest of the year. We're just seeing a continuation of that substandard level of performance in 2023, but without the steady performance of JJSS. When I began pointing out the obvious, people didn't want to hear it, b because we were winning.

Well, now, the pigeons have come home to roost, and it hasn't been pretty.

Patrick Mahomes has no room for error with these WR's
These WR's have to be schemed open because they cannot win by themselves

And that is coming from virtually everyone.

So if Pat is off and has a poor game, or even a whatever game, we're gonna lose. Unless the defense is 2000 Ravensesque that day. And they aren't.

The thing is, Juju, while not great, was good enough so that the rest of the WR's did not have to play as big of a role as they do now.

The drop off to Rice is massive because Rice doesn't know the whole offense, and is a rookie. So everyone else's flaws have become more magnified.

This isn't a SB team. We don't have the weapons to compete with the best teams right now come playoff time. Maybe Rice steps up more next year but with a true #1 this team is likely undefeated this year because the three games we lost were due to all the drops. Last night, Pat had an off game and doesn't have someone who is going to be the play maker when he's off and the defense isn't playing their best.

It's that simple. We need at real #1, or a high level #2 and Trav isn't getting younger.

So if we don't get a true #1 in FA next year then either Rice has to take the next step or we'll continue to have this issue.

They bargain shopped. They didn't pay big money for any of those guys. Even Moss wasn't a big money deal, because he'd almost ran himself out of football with his bullshit.

Same kind of thing that happened with Moore a few weeks ago. MVS turns back in towards the safety coming in instead of keeping his route vertical.

Mahomes is playing chess his WR are playing checkers.

Sharpe has talked about it all week. There's been quite a few breakdowns of film on youtube and clips on X that have gone over it.

What they are saying is what we are seeing. The guys have to be schemed open, and when the defense has a great call for that play, then Pat has nowhere to go with the ball.

We don't have anyone outside of Travis that can consistently beat dudes 1 on 1.
