Not because juju is better but if you have guys opening him up he’s at least an option (which many of our WRs are not). I also feel like this aggressive side of Mahomes is something we want to unlock and I don’t think we do that with a bunch of low ADOTs with some aggressive long bombs sprinkled in.

I want for us to get better with the intermediate throws and I think that’s where dhop helps us the most.

Yep. And I think we'll get those intermediate shots. Either from DHop or from someone else (I'm thinking Gray?), if the defense decides to double or box DHop, which is what every defense was doing to him in TEN the last 23 games.

It's going to be interesting to see just how DCs try to deal with both DHop and Travis on the field at the same time. They can't double/box both of them; there'd be multiple other receivers just running wide open if they did that, obviously.

My first thought when we got him was that this would make doubling Travis all game impossible. Which should get him more 1v1s, and Travis will feast if that happens.

Anyway, with both Travis and DHop out there, there should be lots of opportunities for our other WRs to get 1v1s (hoping that's Worthy flying on some verts).

I think resting older starters here and there against weaker opponents isn't a bad idea. We're playing for the long run. We still have 11 games remaining in the regular season, without a break, and a very condensed schedule. I never said they should rest all the starters the rest of the season against each opponent.

Same thing with Kelce during that three games in ten days period in December. He should sit one of those games. Rather have him fresh for the playoffs.

Am I the only one that remembers Pat having to hold the ball and Maxx getting to him over and over after destroying Wanya?

Playing Hop gives Pat an outlet he can trust outside of Trav, Noah and Hunt.

It’s going allow Andy a lot of options to scheme around that matchup.

I feel like it was Reid, more than mahomes, that never trusted rashee enough with this.

I still feel like the Justyn Ross elevation is a sign that this is what the chiefs are thinking. Because maybe if you get mahomes comfortable that can also help unlock Ross to some extent
Ross isn't doing shit lmao, just stop.

However, I also agree with a lot of what that guy on RGR was saying about how Andy should split DHop's time inside/outside. Don't know if it will really be a 50/50 split, but something in that neighborhood seems likely.

My only concern is that Andy/Nagy might overuse him early, as they seem to be doing with Kareem so far. Or, how McVay uses Kupp, peppering him with targets. Let's not beat up our shiny new toy early. Hoping they manage his snaps carefully until the playoffs and keep him as fresh as possible until we actually need to pepper him with targets.

All that said, I'm not terribly worried about it. Andy isn't stupid; he's not going to misuse DHop the way he was in TEN.
Andy isn't going to overuse an old dude that's become a broke dick that can't stay healthy and isn't even healthy right now. Especially in the regular season.

It's no secret that every team is going to stack their best defensive linemen up against Wanya and Taylor....they know the weak link in our offense.

Wanya is better this year. But he’ll need help if he matches up against Crosby
