Steele, 7 carries for 24 yards, 3.4 YPC average and a fumble... not sure if that meets the threshold of him "shining".

And if Steele is going to become the primary RB in Pacheco's absence, he better learn how to secure the football and stop holding it so high.

Give Steele a chance before you write him off.

Yesterday wasn't nearly enough of a chance.

Him and Perine can split 50/50. Perine has avg over 4 yards a carry the last 4 years.

Big boy league - you eat what you kill in the NFL. You only get reps despite never doing a thing to earn them if your name is Skyy Moore.

Steele got more of a chance than 99.9% of similarly situated guys will ever get last week. And he was...okay. Showed good power and no real vision to speak of (just kinda bounces off of dudes) and some real issues with ball security, even when he DIDN'T put it on the ground, he didn't hold it terribly securely.

There's no reason to just hand him 15-20 touches. He hasn't earned that.

But in a timeshare with Perine handling most of the work between the 20s, he has a real opportunity to force the issue.

We'll see what he does with it.

This! I was telling the wife this yesterday while watching the game. I said I was very glad that Andy put him back in after the fumble. Keep his confidence up and don't screw up again.

I trust Steele to fix the fumbling. McKinnon is cool, but he’s not doing what Pop does. We need someone though.
