****Our Wide Receivers Suck- Official Thread****

They can’t get open, they drop passes in their hands, their jet sweeps are slow and terrible. These guys are not good.

That has nothing to do with being a 2018 explosive offense. We were getting stuck way more than we’re capable of and we know we’ve used a far from ideal wr rotation. I feel cp unanimously agrees that our ideal rotation is more and more rice, less skyy, keep easing in more of a role for hardman, and we need a hell of a lot more out of Toney. And Mvs plays a role but have to accept by now that he’s a boom bust guy. That’s optimism for where our rotation is going. But if we badly want that rotation that means accepting that the rotation we started with was far from “unlocked”

Ehh..there's only been one time this season when we HAD to score and failed and that was really on Skyy. It was a tough catch, but he should've had it and it was the first game of the season without Kelce. I just believe with Patrick and Andy we're going to score 95% of the time when we HAVE to. Esepcially when we get to the playoffs. Hopefully we get the one seed and some weather and it neutralizes some of the faster offenses like the Dolphins. To be honest though, I don't even think we need the weather. I think we're the best team in the league and we've been sandbagging and trying things out to see what works. We always take it up quite a few ticks for the playoffs.

And we haven’t come close to that except that rice looks to be filling that role and then some. No - I don’t think the offense with skyy Mvs Toney is even close to “good enough.” Relegating those guys into roles while rashee takes on a bigger workload and adding a different kind of weapon to the role mix like mecole… that is the “good enough” that will unlock us.
They've been just as good thru 7 games this year as they were last year with JJSS.

Sorry it's "not ideal" whatever that means.

Holy ****ing cognitive dissonance. You say we should be hitting the JuJu standard, and that we "haven't come close to that". Then you immediately follow that up with "except that rice looks to be filling that role and then some".

How the **** can you say "we haven't come close to that" if you are also saying that Rice "looks to be filling that role and then some"?

Rice is, right now, a top 25 WR in the NFL. That's pretty good. I'm pretty happy with that.

Uh, maybe because rice was learning and playing limited reps the first few games and only recently is ramping up his role. The offense has often looked out of rhythm and out of sync without him, but they look much better with him. We all generally agree this offense will be better as he continues to get more reps and grows.

No we weren’t. I really wish people would stop saying this. As a pass offense we’ve had lots of challenges. The main difference is that Pacheco is getting the majority of reps early in the season where he wasn’t last year and we have played bottom 10 defenses where last year we started off against mostly top 15 defenses. This year we’ve played 7 games and have played the 4 worst pass yds/game defenses. The pass offense hasn’t been close to ideal and most of us understand that the wr depth chart needs to be reshuffled… it will be by seasons end… and that is way more ideal than what we have out there now

Oh, so against bad defenses, we toss those games out. Ok, lets check the JJSS offense then I suppose thru 7 games?

No, you said "we haven't come close to that" as if we still haven't.

Who the **** cares about the first few weeks? We're 6-1. It was inconsequential.

You're just further proving that you're bitching just to bitch at this point.

I’m not the one who reintroduced the narrative that our pass offense has been great in the early going and that there is nothing to unlock. Everyone knows we’re going to get better with a new wr rotation that features rashee more and a well used mecole, and relegated skyy and Toney to a smaller role until they prove otherwise.

So if we know there is a more ideal rotation coming we can stop this narrative about how great our pass offense has been when we know we’re working through things

I know you’re reasonable enough to know that playing literally the 4 worst pass defenses out of 7 games is a key point if you’re trying to compare year over year. You’re comparing apples to oranges. We’ve had some passing game challenges early in the year even against bad pass defenses.

And yeah I know I’m not alone in believing just giving mahomes a target eater like juju will make a big difference. rashee looks best fit for that role. That is a big piece to “unlocking” the offense and we see a lot of it when he’s in the game.

Crazy that somehow the Raiders are the only Top 10 pass defense we'll see the rest of the season.

We played the Cardinals, Colts, Raiders, and Chargers early in the season last year too. GMAFB with this "but look at the pass defenses we've played!" bullshit zilla.

Get help.

I’m not the one who brought up the first few weeks.

If you want to be an optimist about where we’re going. Great.
If you want to sugarcoat where we’ve been I’ll call it out.

I’m not even bitching. I’m being an optimist. Everyone here knows their ideal wr rotation and it’s because we had a wr rotation that was less ideal. So why is the statement that we haven’t been as good as we should be controversial?
