We've been waiting nearly 60 years for some revenge. I want to beat the Packers and hear coach Reid say:
"I think the Green Bay team is a real tough football team, but it doesn't compare with the American Football League teams." Yeah, I hold grudges. |

Send that pussy Bears QB crying to his mom in the stands. The best manicure in the world wouldn't be able to cheer him up after that.

Any one of the NFC-E teams would be satisfying to spank - mostly due to the obnoxiousness of their fans.
Beating a NFC-N has some historical appeal. Revisiting the KCs earliest SB appearances. Tampa Bay needs some pay-back Another SF game would be sort of boring - people might not tune in (of course they will) I can't get exited about any of the remaining teams. |

I'm also trying to think of who would be in the most pain if we beat them again.
Lions? Nah - they're young, still ascending. They'll see it as a positive step forward. Packers? Same Cowboys? God no, it's the most success they've had in 30 years. They'll love it. Eagles? After last year's catastrophe? I really don't think so. All the rest of them would see making the SB as playing with house money except for....that's right...the 49ers. And man, just absolutely crushing their spirit sounds like a lot of fun. Having a team in the AFC and NFC that just loudly despises us would be pretty fantastic. And it's SF to boot. I take little joy in making folks that live in Buffalo sad. That's a cool town. But SF? Oh man is it delicious seeing them cry their tears of unfathomable sadness. And they know that window is closing fast. It's not Detroit or GB who think they're on the rise. Oh no, SF knows it has 1, maybe 2 years tops to get over the hump. And to get them AGAIN...mmmmmmm......that's pretty tasty. So on first consideration it was the Lions if only for something new. But in embracing our role as the black hat and trying to view it through the lens of "what sort of victory would cause the most pain to the opposing fanbase..." I think I may have to go SF. |

San Francisco again. I lived through all of the arrogance of 49er fans back in the day. I know more niners fans than anything else. They were so braggadocious going into our first Superbowl match with them and my family were the only Chiefs fans in two houses filled with 9er fans for both matchups. The comebacks were fantastic. I would love them to do it one more time. They have their free QB for 2 more years and that's it, salary cap hell.

Was going to say the Cowboys but I don't want them to even have the satisfaction of a SB appearance.

It took me a few years but I've fully embraced being the villain. I said I'd stay humble and remember the painful origins of my fandom, but non-Chiefs fans have made that attitude all but impossible. They want us to be villains, so I say we give them what we want.
And that means rooting for the scenario that causes the most pain league-wide. And there's only one team that can accomplish that. Yep. It's the Lions. I don't think there's a single non-Chiefs fan out there who wouldn't be rooting for Detroit that game (excluding degenerate gamblers who put money on the Chiefs). I think even the NFC North teams would be rooting for them! Yes, even the Vikings, as painful as it would be for them to suffer a sadsack franchise like Detroit winning the big one before they do. The day after the Super Bowl would be a day of mourning across the country. I wouldn't even be surprised if they put the damn flag at half mast. |
