So he trusted him to make the play here, yet doesn't in that other situation?

Mahomes isn't seeing the field at times. This is part of the growing pains. This team will continue to get better and figure it out.

This may be an unpopular opinion but Skyy is best suited on the outside. The best part of his game is when he commits to one super cut and gets off jams pretty well. With Kelce and Rice clearing the middle I think he could feast. I also think the Chiefs are saving their best for last. We're not seeing their Super Bowl playbook, these are scrimmage plays.

If I'm right about the reason he didn't throw that ball, you need to make a personnel change.
The same guy he had issues "not trusting" in the past? I mean, what makes you think that's gonna be different?

If we aren't throwing that because we don't trust a guy, stop playing him. If the QB isn't gonna make those throws, we've got bigger issues here.
Was this 3rd down? I dont remember.

If it's 3rd down then the reason he didnt throw it is self explanatory.

EDIT: If it's 3rd down, then the reason he turned it down is because he didn't think it'd get to the end zone. And he's probably right. It likely wouldn't have.

"Give him quick routes off coverage" as if the defense going into a zone and giving him layups like this is some common occurance or something.

He 'didn't trust him' to the tune of 500+ yards and a half dozen massive plays per season.

That's a far cry from what we're seeing with Moore.

I'm no Moore fan but I think you're harshing him a bit here. He wins this route, if he catches it and turns upfield, he may get tackled sure, but Pat has to throw that. Moore has all the leverage and a catch and turn is close to a first down.
I agree with you he stares down the middle to either Kelce or Rice for quite awhile then quickly starts going through his progressions by then it was to late to hit Moore or anyone else for that matter.

Isn't this the play he threw an INT?

It was. And that's my point.

He didn't throw it because he doesn't think Moore converts it.

That's no longer a trust issue. It's a personnel problem.

Well....there's only one way to build "trust" whatever that is.

What kind of trust here are we talking about?

What is it that you think Mahomes doesn't trust?

I'm not sure "trust" is the right word. I think Mahomes knows who each of these guys are, what they do and don't do well and filters his decision making based off expectations, which are based off prior experience.

"Trust" gets thrown around this forum as a way to pass blame to Mahomes for not throwing to guys that CP All-22 nerds THINK are open.

To me, "trust" is applied in situations like, "Hey don't throw a 50/50 ball to this guy because he routinely loses those in practice".

And that's not really a trust problem so much as it is being smart and knowing who your teammates are and arent.

He looks like the only one not going to the sticks. Looks like it was basically just a clearing route just to keep a defender or 2 occupied and he wasn't really part of the reads unless it became a scramble drill
