They can’t get open, they drop passes in their hands, their jet sweeps are slow and terrible. These guys are not good.

Nah, he's just the guy getting those targets.

Once Rice has gotten them, he's made plays with them.

I just don't agree with what you're seeing here. Maybe I need to go back and watch.

As the most vocal guy on the board that was in favor of 'the plan' I also said many times that it was likely to take a while for the kids to click.

Rice is starting to click, and I believe passed Watson last game.

People who wanted to cut Watson and MVS we're ****ing reerun'd.

They were obviously going to need to lean on the vets early.

The only bummers have been that Skyy has shown nothing and Ritchie, who was almost certainly Skyy suckage insurance has been on IR.

That and no Kelce week one. Or we'd be 6-0 and getting stronger instead of 5-1and getting stronger.

We've hit on at least one. we'll be fine.

Offense looks difficult. Everything is a long drive. Big drives always seem to rely on Mahomes scrambling. Passes have to be pinpoint into tight windows.

The Chiefs have lost their ability to be a quick strike offense.

They scare no one. We're seeing man coverage like we've never seen before.

The days of, "Look how far back the safeties are!" are long gone.

Issue is, you need 3 or 4 going into December and into the playoffs against some of these teams we're gonna get.

I hope those others outside of Kelce are on the squad but they may not be.

Well, yeah. That was always gonna be the case when you traded away Tyreek and guys aged out.

It wasn't that way last year and they were successful.

Watson has absolutely stepped up and any talk of cutting him was indeed reeruned in hindsight. However, not really sure you can say they've leaned on MVS when he's done almost nothing this year, and maybe that's a big part of the issue with the offense. Many were hoping he'd take a step forward in year 2 with Mahomes, but that simply hasn't happened. Offense would look a lot better if he was even moderately productive. So if over the next month or two if the young guys can step up then we would go a long ways towards "fixing" the offense. Rice has already started to do that, need Moore/Ross to start moving in that direction soon.

It was pretty similar last year too.

Just because you trade Hill and release Hardman, that's not an excuse for letting the speed rot.

Hell, even our reverses and RPO's aren't working well.

Toney is shifty, but he's not stoopid fast like Hardman was etc.

Thursday night where we scored 19 points against the worst defense in the NFL?

No, i don't recall the safeties playing uncommonly far back to respect our vertical passing game on Thursday night.

My fear was teams would adjust back to us realizing we no longer had Tyreek and speed and it is happening.

It's REALLY about the lack of explosive plays and ability to do something with the ball once the catch is made.

That's what this is REALLY about. These guys aren't creating. They're running routes just fine. They're catching just fine. Young guys ARE playing.

But aside from Rice, these guys aren't creating on their own. No one is scary with the ball in their hands. Toney CAN be, but it hasn't clicked yet.
I actually worry more about what we do before the catch. Our WRs can run the plays as designed. But they don’t do a lot of the little things like flatten routes or cut them off, follow mahomes on scramble drill, sit down in the zone. I just don’t think it’s a coincidence that Ross and rice, our two most inexperienced WRs are frequently on the same page as mahomes where our veterans still are not. We run a precise offense too unprecisely.

It’s why it still feels like these guys get open but it kind of catches mahomes off guard because he didn’t expect them to hit their spots. He just doesn’t trust a lot of these guys.

Reverses?

The RPO game has been fine.

They need to be able to throw the ball down the field for sure, but I don't think the issue has necessarily been the WR's.

I don't care how the big plays are made: Near the LoS or downfield. We're not getting them from either right now.

When's the last time we saw an effective JET sweep to Toney? Or any of the trickery behind the LoS that Reid loves. That shit was a staple in this offense for years.

As much as we've been critical of our offense, look around the league.

Our standards are so high here, 25 other teams would love to have our offense.
