Alex Smith Traded to Chiefs

Well, it looks like the deal is done.

Jay Glazer @JayGlazer
49ers have completed a trade with the Chiefs for Alex Smith, tho can't be official til March 12. Chiefs really made a commitment to Smith

Jay Glazer @JayGlazer
Deal has been agreed upon between Chiefs and 49ers. Compensation unclear but I'm told again Chiefs have made a clear commitment to Smith.

Can't have it both ways, and I"m not the one being obtuse here. Either Playoff wins are okay, or it has to be Super Bowl wins.
No, it's not good enough to spend that much in draft resources to acquire a 29-year old QB who is only good enough to beat Cincinnati in the playoffs ala Matt Schaub. And I have doubts that Alex Smith is even capable of doing that.

Call me when he takes the Chiefs to a Super Bowl and loses. Then we'll have this conversation. In the meantime, the entire topic is so immersed in the hypothetical that I feel like writing a science fiction novel about it

Okay, yes, I am a spoiled f***ing rotten 49ers fan with 5 Super Bowl wins. Yes, I admit it. I don't understand what it's like to be 2-14, have the #1 pick in the draft, and have losing seasons.

I don't know what it feels like to have my team go 20 years without winning a playoff game. I don't know what it's like to have a clueless head coach and general manager.

Or do I?

2004 was a pretty rotten ****ing season. especially after having your cheap skate of an owner sit there and spit in the face of bill walsh, and declare they were moving away from everything that he built, to then hire dennis erickson...

bleh.....

so, we have to use alexs first six years against him, how the **** are you going to just dismiss his nfccg title game appearance?

its rhetorical by the way. You guys use whatever stats you want to back up your point of view. To hell with reality right?

Alex Smith is going break apart mid~air~season.

That's what I expect to happen & who is going to go in at that time is the question?

Jake Plummer played in a championship game.

Shaun King played in a championship game.

Rex Grossman played in a SUPER BOWL.

It doesn't mean much.

And for the record, yes I should have know 3rd round for Montana. My bad. At least I have the sack to admit when I'm wrong, especially after it's pointed out to me.
