The 79 Power Wagon I recently finished a frame off restoration of would almost qualify as I spent just about 10 grand on parts and materials, but don't count the 1100 hours I spent doing it.
Three years ago we spent less than 10 grand on a blue 2014 Prius C with 59k on the clock and it has been an awesome investment. It is our commuter car and gets right at 50mpg. It is not a comfortable ride though, more than 50 miles at a time is not in the cards. https://images.app.goo.gl/gG8cruRpvVBee7BM9 My Challenger is now 16 years old with 62k and I wouldn't take triple the number for it but there are plenty of used ones out there for less than 10k. Same with my 03 Ram, it is spotless and I couldn't replace it for the number and it is way more valuable to me than the 10k with 80k on the clock. There are plenty of used Gen3 rams out there for under 10k but the rust bug has attacked a lot of them with very high mileage. That being said, at times I wish we had our 07 Dodge Nitro back as SUVs are very handy at times and the guy that bought it three years ago has driven the heck out of it with no problems. So I would add a nice Dodge Nitro of Jeep Grand Cherokee to the fleet and they can be found for the under 10k number. |

Would be fun to visit this one again. Not sure if it would be worth 14.5, but that number seems within the "budget dream zone"

OP found some cool cars. It would take me a while to find five worth having for under 10 grand. Even the ones in the OP I think out here in California are more like 15K. Used car prices went through the roof during the pandemic, I was trying to find a commuter for my college kid and at $9,000 all I could find was pieces of crap. or Hondas with 250,000 miles and all sun faded.
