It's pretty much the worst case scenario. We finally have an opponent in our division with a really good HC/QB combo. Would still give us the edge, but the road will be tougher than it would have been with almost any other hire.

On the other hand, it will probably be a lot of fun. Is Jim Harbaugh really all that? We're gonna find out. Would bring me great pleasure for him to keep falling short and ultimately deeply regret this decision. This just became a rivalry.

Exactly. Is bailing to the nfl, because he knows Michigan is going to get their National Title stripped. Doing the same thing that Pete Carroll did when he left USC.

The hire itself will be good for the Chargers though.

I will never like any divisional rival getting a good coach no matter who it is. I don't like that they have a good young QB to go with that coach either.

Their cap issues are overblown. They're $45 million in the hole and get $37 million alone for Corey Linsley (he's retiring) and cutting Keenan Allen

According to overthecap.com, LAC will have $87 million in cap space in 2025. They'll be out of the woods by the end of next season.

They can cut Mack, Allen, Linsley and Kendricks....and they'll STILL only be under the cap by $15 million. Bosa is a highly paid brokedick and Quentin Johnson was trash last year. That roster needs a serious overhaul and Herbert is on the last year of being relatively cheap at $19 million.

Linsley has a heart condition so he's probably retiring.
