The Raiders are gonna move Devante, I don't think they'd trade him to KC would they?

The browns are now semi officially in tank mode. The titans will probably move on from dhop and would rather get some value back. These are actually realistic options. Diontae is in a contract year although I suspect Carolina will want him back.

And as I’ve said before DRob is not the worst option. At least he creates something new for the offense which is helping mahomes out in scramble drill.
Let’s get the whole band back together!

Apparently you are saying he can't, so we're gonna have to go a different direction.
That is not why we did it. We were one of a handful of teams without a first round WR and most teams were super aggressive about throwing $ at WRs. We got a little too cute with the idea that we didn’t need to do that.

I’m not saying he needs elite talent always to carry him. What he needs is quality depth and that is not unreasonable no matter his salary. 1) don’t do what we did last year and surround him WRs who can’t and shouldn’t be trusted. 2) in order to un**** mahomes he probably needs a little help. Once he is un****ed he won’t need as much. But we aren’t going to relieve his trauma by bombarding him with the bad habits he developed to cope with it.

We were on the right track except for awful luck. We’ve hit a home run on our last 2 draft picks. Hollywood was a great signing. So we don’t need to change direction. But rather than say mahomes needs to tough out the circumstances, I’d say the circumstances have dictated that we need to give him bandaids so he doesn’t have to go through this without help

He had his best overall season as a pro without Tyreek and no first round WR's.

Then last year they went to hell (he didn't play well either) and now we're back to watching him leave clean pockets while guys are open down field.

Call it whatever you want I guess.

Even if it costs you your next 2 first rounders if not more? Raiders are going to jack that price up big time, and you'd also have to restructure his contract.

DRob always frustrated me. But we do kind of need a guy like him and he’s not the worst option when he’s contained in a very specific role. It’s when he is forced into a bigger role that’s the problem. Which the rams are figuring out pretty quick

He's 32 it won't cost that much. I'd imagine a 2nd would do it.

I could see them picking up a WR. Not Amari Cooper level but maybe a formerly greatly WR that has lost a step, due to be a FA next year. Maybe get one of those WR rentals for a 4th - 6th rounder.

It’s a business.

Owners understand their team isn’t going anywhere and if it can save them money or better their future, they’ll listen. Money is more important than rings to some owners. Mark Davis doesn’t seem like he cares about football. He’s just there banging young broads and enjoying life lol.

thinking about what collateral we had for a trade. I forgot about draft picks.

This may be the only way we bring someone in.

Defenses adapted and this year, they are giving problems to everyone including mahomes. Last year we didn’t do a good job at adapting. This year we tried and just got really unlucky. But it’s really telling that our offseason moves were hyper focused on speed which means veach didn’t want to go back to 2 years ago.

I would not be opposed to giving up a first in the scenario you mentioned above, but not on a rental for the year.

Sure if you look at a first in the light of CEH, FAU etc then it doesn’t seem that bad.

But KC also has an extra third this year which is projecting to be pretty high. Veach can use that and our first to maneuver up to get a better player ala McDuffie.
