So the rules analyst explanation for what that wasn't forward progress was...to be polite...reeruned.
Can anyone actually provide an explanation that isn't braindead? Are they saying he brought the ball back himself (voluntarily rather than forced) and as such ceded the forward progress? |

Going back in time to the AFCCG against the Bengals.
Didn’t MVS stick the ball out for a first down and bring it back? He was allowed forward progress because he got the the first then protected the ball, right? So that same logic doesn’t apply to your own goal line? |

He was being pulled backwards by his leg, though.
So were they trying to say (poorly) that since his BODY was still going forward when he pulled the BALL back, then the movement of the ball backwards was clearly a volitional act? I guess that makes sense? |
