Alex Smith Traded to Chiefs

Well, it looks like the deal is done.

https://twitter.com/intent/user?scre...w_p=tweetembed

Jay Glazer @JayGlazer
49ers have completed a trade with the Chiefs for Alex Smith, tho can't be official til March 12. Chiefs really made a commitment to Smith

Jay Glazer @JayGlazer
Deal has been agreed upon between Chiefs and 49ers. Compensation unclear but I'm told again Chiefs have made a clear commitment to Smith.

I like what the Chiefs did. Alex Smith is an upgrade. Chiefs can trade top pick for additional picks and/or a starter or 2.

Like many of you I think we are over paying for his services, and I hate giving up our 2nd round pick. It would be a bit better if we were swapping 2nd round picks, but we are still going to miss out on some great talent. The strength of this draft was its depth, no we will miss out on all of that. Can I get in that noose too?

Your newest backup retread mediocre joke of a quarterback. Get ready for the management to polish up this turd and sell it to us as gold. Get behind a guy who can't throw more than 18 touchdowns.

More of the same old bullshit from this joke franchise. What a GD WASTE

I was all for acquiring QBs any way you can... this team has to fix the position. But that's way too much to give up if true. Now you can't even draft a QB in early round 2, an area where you can have success (Brees/Dalton/Kaepernick, etc.) If they'd traded a 4th for A. Smith and then drafted someone in round 2, I at least could've understood the logic, even if I didn't agree with it.

Instead they're going all in, sink or swim. Good luck. They better be right.
