Year Two of the Matt Quatraro tenure. Time to take a step up this year. Active in free agency and trades this offseason. A new look pitching rotation and bullpen. Will the young players take the leap up offensively? Bobby Witt extension? New stadium? Will Vinny recover from injury? Salvy taking aim at the Royals record book? Who would have thunk that on 23 Aug 2024 the Royals would:

1. Be 16 games over .500
2. Be one game out of 1st in the AL Central
3. Be four games back of the best record in baseball
4. Have the second best run differential in baseball
5. Scored the 6th most runs in baseball
6. Given up the 5th fewest runs in baseball

Just a stunning year they are having regardless of how it ends up.

It's even more remarkable when you consider that the Royals lost 106 games a year ago.
