****Our Wide Receivers Suck- Official Thread****

They can’t get open, they drop passes in their hands, their jet sweeps are slow and terrible. These guys are not good.

The guy I always think of acquiring is Kyle Pitts. He is expendable in Atlanta's scheme, the Falcons aren't winning anything until they draft their QB of the future. Draft class stocked with QB prospects- maybe Atlanta would move on from Pitts to add the extra draft capital so that they have the capability to move up if needed.

Atlanta being 2-1 obviously doesn't help but maybe they lose several in a row and decide to pivot. Highly unlikely but a guy can dream.

Pitts is the one I'd want.

Grey and Kelce look great at TE 1 and 2, but long term, Pitts would fit well.

These defenses aren't stupid.
I'm happy for that kid but let's be honest here. The kid ran a 4.57 40 and 7.32 3 cone. He's got one thing he can do and it ain't beating man coverage. He was a day 3 pick for a reason.

If you want to destroy this dynasty run you'd do it from the inside by exhausting money on 30 year olds on limited time and wasting draft picks to eliminate any type of flexibility.

Not sure how anyone could question this front office after the drafts they've had the last 3 years which includes a WR this year that looks like he has the potential to be one of the better WR's in the league.

Rice has looked good but.....come on.

Lets let the guy play a bit before we get too crazy.

He should've been very unhappy with himself. he dropped three passes that hit him in both hands, one of which was a sure TD, and the other two probably would've led to points, but at least both would've converted 3rd downs and kept those drives going.

Evans was as responsible for that loss as anyone last night.

Lol, yes, after a lifetime of experiences, I would prefer quality over quantity in every situation, if possible.

Everyone's blowing this Puka guy in LA who hasn't even scored a TD yet but Rice is inches away from getting 3 TD's in 3 games on limited snaps.

This isn't rookie Skyy Moore or rookie Mecole Hardman here. Rice looks like he belongs. He's doing extremely well thus far.

Well....one guy had a great 2 game stretch for a rookie WR, record setting etc.

The other is inches away from TD"s.

Rice is playing well, but again, lets let this mellow for a bit.

We’re not saying Rice is Mike Evans.

We’re saying don’t waste the resources on Mike Evans when we have Rice.

What, lol? No, in my experience, quality is always preferable over quantity, period. Unless you're in a land war with China. That's the one exception.

No, your CONCLUSION.

In your mind, if one receiver gets enough targets to accumulate 100 yards, and one other gets enough to get 63, and no other WR gets any, then to YOU, that means those two guys are good and the offense works. Quality! You think. Wrong conclusion.

If four guys spread out the targets and accumulate the same yardage- that's because they're not good, you think.

False conclusion based on ignorant assumptions.

Perhaps the offense, as designed, spreads the ball around based on taking advantage of the defensive seams and weak points on any given down.

I'm fact, we have seen this, and know it to be true. Yet you would prefer to force feed an individual regardless of the defense. To you, this would be preferable.

I'm talking about higher quality players and higher quality play. You know, like the difference between Travis as a TE and Gray/Bell. You do recognize that Travis is a far superior player, right?

That it has nothing to do with 'force-feeding' Travis, and everything to do with Travis being head and shoulders better than the other TEs?

Or is it your belief that Gray is the same quality player as Travis, he just isn't getting the ball?

Obviously not, I think we can agree.

Presently, we don't have a high quality WR, like Travis is a high quality TE.

It's that simple.

"Oftentimes quantity has a quality all its own..."

I'd take 5 #2 wideouts over Tyreek Hill and chaff 100 times out of 100.

There's no way to be this dogmatic about it. Sometimes high end is more important. Sometimes depth is.

If your defense is 5 Chris Jones level players and 6 Orlando Scandrick caliber ones, your defense is going to suck ass because OCs are going to find ways to exploit the 6 piles of shit.

To say there's some universal truth is just silly.

It's nothing approaching 'that simple' and anyone arguing otherwise has an incredibly shallow view of how this game is played.
