50 Beers to Try Before You Die
Thought the beer snobs here might like this article (and probably critique the hell out of it).
http://www.wisdeo.com/articles/view_post/2984 (CBS) You've heard of "100 Bottles of Beer on the Wall"? How about 50 to try before you die?!
Spoiler!

You can still find them, just not too many places around KC. I bought a case and a half of 2011 BBQ last summer, a full year after it had been gone from the shelves here. Where did I buy it you ask? Not in Missouri, that's for sure...

I've been finding 8-bit Pale Ale from Tall Grass (Manhattan, KS) all around me lately (Mississippi). I'm a big, big fan of it.

I'm glad Tallgrass has got some momentum going. They make great beer.
They have been sponsoring KC disc golf events for a couple of years now. |

Glad to hear BBQ is being brewed again...
Drinking a Central Waters Peruvian Morning currently. Absolutely delicious. CW is one of my favorite breweries, and woefully under appreciated. Their BA program is fantastic, as well. Probably trekking out to the brewery in a few weeks... |

I haven't been real impressed with them, but need to give it another shot - it's been a while. I've heard their vanilla Buffalo Sweat is really good - want to track that one down...

Their 8 bit pale ale is very good, and I also like their tripel, Velvet Rooster. The vanilla bean buffalo sweat is super tasty for what it is, a nice sweet stout.

A few new tries for me:
New Belgium's Rampant Imperial IPA. I like it, but it does have a strange taste that a lot of people find offputting. Sort of floral and citrus notes with a ton of bitter. Schlafly Kolsch: probably one of the favorite session beers I've tried in a while. The main problem is that it's 9 bucks a six pack, and that's more than I like to pay for a session beer. Schlafly Dry Hopped APA: delicious, though I prefer the Kolsch. This one is a bigger beer, though, and it goes a little further with me than the Kolsch. |
