They can’t get open, they drop passes in their hands, their jet sweeps are slow and terrible. These guys are not good.

Sure, play the young guys but:

Even with the young guys, MVS is still a top 3 option on this team.

And KT can barely be counted on to finish a practice.

And of the young guys, none of them seem to have Watson's speed element, and the MVS/Watson speed element is necessary to stretch the defense vertically so there's more space underneath for the horizontal game to work, which is where Kelce/Moore/Rice/Ross etc are meant to feast.

I don't really give a shit if it's a young guy or a vet, just play the BEST guys.

Play the best 4-5 guys we have right now. The top 3 receivers should ALWAYS be the top 3 regardless of the package.

Mahomes doesn't need to throw to 12 different guys every goddamn game.

Having Rice, Ross and Moore one play, and then on the very next play subbing them out for MVS/Watson/Moore....and then on the next play it's MVS/Rice/James.....i mean, that is NOT helping Mahomes with continuity and timing. Which this offense is VERY CLEARLY struggling with right now.

Different position, but I think Pacheco is the better comparison for Rice.

They both were getting significant snaps with the 1s in TC and in the preseason.

They both were clearly the most talented in their position group/room.

They eased Pacheco into a starting role, like they've said they plan to do with Rice.

I have no idea why they do that, forever and ever it was WR 1 2 and 3 saw a ton of snaps maybe 4 got in occasionally while 5 and 6 played teams..

It's weird to see an entire depth chart of WR's get cycled in and out.

The Chiefs were rolling and blew the Cardinals out week 1 last year.

The Chiefs were struggling offensively and in a close defensive struggle with another AFC contender in week 2.

Do you honestly think Rice's snaps will decrease as the season goes on?

Decrease? Not likely. Certainly hope not considering he got 12 on Sunday.

Increase the amount some of you are expecting? Really not sure considering most recent history only showed a slight bump in snaps once someone else got hurt.

So you think Veach is full of shit?

Because this isn't just speculation. It's what we were told.

Also, since you think the room is so bad that they need him to play more immediately, how long do you think until they're forced to do so?

Or do you think they will continue to struggle on offense without making changes/adjustments?

Again, everything points to a complete lack of trust/faith in the process.

A third for a guy drafted in the first that’s as talented as almost any WR in the game. Health and consistency are his issues, not talent

2 - mid round 2nds on WRs
A few lottery tickets

Not too many teams with much more invested in the room than us.

That 'explanation' from Veach is insulting, IMO.

"Yeah, we think you fans are just going to take it as an article of faith that our system is just that much more complicated than everyone else's..."

McVay has a hell of a deep system in his own right and he has a guy out there executing it. He has a QB that improvises and they've figure it out.

"Andy's complicated scheme" has always been a flimsy excuse to me. I think it's a hell of a lot less complicated than that - it's a trust issue for Reid (and by extension, Mahomes).

If he isn't absolutely certain you'll be in the right place at the right time for 95% of your reps and he has an alternative that he thinks will be, he's going to go with the alterative.

Because not getting open may mean a stalled drive. But just running a stupid route may mean a turnover. Reid seems content with taking some ceiling out of the offense in exchange for raising floor when it comes to turnovers. And he doesn't have the patience it would seem to require to put up with in-season growing pains from younger WRs.

When he doesn't have a choice he trusts more, he seems like he'll play them. Or if he has a rookie like Hill who bring so MUCH more ceiling that it justifies the lower floor. But when it's Moore - who's ceiling isn't higher than anyone else out there and who's floor was clearly lower - he's not gonna force that guy into the lineup. It's early yet to see how he's handling Rice but I do think he's using him a little more aggressively than he used Moore. And Ross is getting about the same level of run as Moore did at this time last year.

It's not scheme - its trust and philosophy, IMO.
