Yeah, he ended up restructuring to some odd 1-year deal with a ton of incentives. I'm wanting to say he accepted the restructure to ensure a free run into FA this year; I think he got a no Franchise clause in there.

And Shanahan already confirmed that he won't be back, so he's as good as gone.

Very likely a Raider unless they trade for Rodgers.

This is probably his last, best shot to grab a bag one more time.

And man, if you're Grapes and you see Shanahan continue to expose his top guys to these shots, why would you go back there?

I gotta believe that by mid-season next year we'll finally start to hear reporters start to question the brilliant Shanahan and say "Hey, has anyone considered the possibility that this isn't bad luck? Maybe he's not a boy genius who's come up with some novel approach to offense. Maybe everyone else out there COULD be doing stuff like this but isn't because they don't want to get their key offensive players killed?"

Shanahan got Purdy hurt. Shanahan got Lance hurt. Grapes got hurt on a simple zone blitz where the 49ers had 3 guys off the line and 2 RBs in the backfield who both ran out in the pattern leaving him completely exposed off the edge.

Shanahan has that Martz sort of 'damn the torpedoes' approach to protecting his guys and it took about 3 years of Martz getting guys killed for folks to finally wise up and say "hey, maybe he's the problem?"

That's an interesting perspective. It does seem like it's almost impossible to be that unlucky, so it makes sense.

Purdy got wrecked when Shanahan had a damn TE blocking the NFL's leader in sacks 1v1.

"Oh the poor 49ers had to play without a QB..."

Poor 49ers my ass - they exposed their QB to getting wrecked and the Eagles obliged them.

It was just as stupid as running Trey Lance on a designed run in the first week of the season on a nothing play.

JFC I butchered that post all up, lol. I suck at typing when I'm high. Good to see you got the point.

But now that you say it, I do remember that they had a TE blocking Reddick 1 on 1 on that play. Definitely inexcusable.

look at all the shit QBs that still managed to get their organizations SOMETHING of value. Raiders actually have a halfway decent one comparatively and can't get a ham sandwich. Way to go, McDouche****.
