Justin Watson is 27 years old and has 43 career receptions...that isn't a reliable vet that is a JAG.

Sure

But we've also gotta contend with a salary cap here. I don't think throwing 15 million at OBJ or however much DHop got was feasible, much as I'd have liked it.

I don't hate J-Wat - I hate that our offseason decision making has him as our defacto WR1.

Toney going down did.

Could argue that was always gonna happen, but again, we have monetary things to contend with and when WR's are getting what they're getting, they've gotta get creative.

Toney was never going to be capable of taking #1 snaps....

Also if you go look at Watsons incentives they had to tell him something about playing time before he signed that, a player wouldn't have signed that deal if he thought he was gonna be WR 5 or 6.

If you buy into that then that means Watson knew he was going to get starter playing time. Which means this was the plan...

That isn't what I'd call "reliable vets"
Their trump card was Toney, who paid off for them when they needed him last year. He was good aside from 1 play yesterday.

They want Skyy to be that new vet and he actually showed it fairly well yesterday in Jacksonville. The book isn't closed yet.

I know you wanted us to trade up for Addison, but nobody wanted to trade up with us. That's pretty well known.

It was a 1.8 million dollar deal.

But Toney is never going to be reliable, his body won't allow it.

You wouldn't sign an deal with an incentive that basically doubled your base pay based on snaps unless you had a good idea you'd get those snaps..unless your agent is a total moron.

Right now you're looking at Toney - assuming he can stay healthy - and a WHOLE LOT of question marks.

Or, if you want to be a pessimist, you can assume Toney won't be able to stay healthy (he hasn't once in his career) and you have NOTHING but question marks.

They need some sort of a presence besides Kelce - MVS ain't it.

77% of his yardage came on a busted coverage. Let's not get carried away, you'd expect anyone on a NFL roster to "make that play"

And Addison will never be a #1 WR. He's doing well bc every defense is doubling Jefferson.

We've hit a point where you almost wonder if it would be worth it to kick the tires on Jarvis Landry or Julio Jones.

Nah, not that dire, you just have zero patience and are a known drama Queen about this stuff.
