Because far too often it works. They get upset, the person who made the comment either retracts their statement or apologize for “hurtful comments”. Not only did Butker not do either, he continues to stand by what he said. Now some like Mr Wingo have to attack the organization for what they did.

Sad when being a devout catholic is a bridge too far for the left.

Can just see the future draft shows, so and so is likely to fall because he is ...too catholic. Some team will take a chance but with his Notre Dame background that is just a red flag, East and West coast teams have just crossed him off their lists.

Dude just shut the **** up with this disingenuous bullshit. No one cares that he's catholic.

You serious? His whole belief system he is being attacked for has 100% to do with his Catholic faith. There is no debating that.

honestly who even gives a shit. It was his POV. Agree or disagree and move on.

The bigger problem is that there are idiots like Matt Lane who think the chiefs overspent. I couldn’t disagree with Butker more and I think he’s a steal at twice the price.

It’s like these dipshits don’t remember He Who Mist Not be Named.

Doesn't matter, if he is too Catholic for other Catholics, its still about his religion.

No, what he said is being attacked. It had nothing to do with Catholicism. And I would hope I don't have to explain why being Catholic is too much for the left is an incredibly stupid take.

From the type of people most outraged over Butker's speech:

You don't speak for everybody, dipshit. There are many who absolutely care that he's Catholic.

What he said wasn't catholic. It was his own personal opinion. Just because you found some click bait bullshit doesn't prove anything.

I was raised Catholic, and Butker's views are EXTREME. That's okay, but just understand all of you who aren't Catholic, that he doesn't represent the vast majority. He is old school, like more fundamentalist Catholic than my grandmother. I think he's a good dude, and well-meaning, but some of those old-world views don't come across well in this day and age.

None of that matters to me as a Chiefs fan. Good human nailing clutch field goals for my favorite football team is good enough.

I'll save you all a little time.... nobody gives a shit if you agree with his views or not, or if you're Catholic or Christian or Pastafarian, partly due to the fact that you've already told us both of those things 15 times across 5 threads on the same goddamn subject.

Oh whatever. I know you hang on my every word about my religious upbringing. I’ll be sure to keep it going in the next Butker thread.
