How about Owen Carney? He made a couple good plays Saturday. Pretty large young man.

That's not to say I don't think he belongs on an NFL roster - I think he does. But he's definitely not starting caliber. We'd be well served to continue scouring for DE help. After Karlaftis and Danna, we don't have anyone that can really be counted on for 1st and 2nd down. And frankly, FAU may not be all that useful on 3rd either. He has a long way to go yet. |

Trey Hendrickson had just two sacks combined in his first two seasons as a pro. I think FAU just needs to get his first sack out the way to really give him confidence. That tackle for loss he made in the superbowl was quality. He just needs to get to the QB and finish. Once that happens I think he'll be fine.

Ford did jack shit until that breakout game against Chargers toward the end of his second season. Maybe FAU has a similar trajectory? Hopefully without…ya know…lining up offsides to lose the AFCCG. |

I don't know if he should bulk up and move inside, or get leaner and move to LB, but from almost everything I have seen, he doesn't appear to be an NFL caliber DE. |

Haason Reddick had 2.5 sacks his rookie year, and 1 sack in his third year before he took off in his fourth year. I still have faith he can make an impact in time. |

What's disappointed me a little with FAU is he just looked bendier in college and with a better get off. He's never going to go through people, but he's only really flashed the ability to go round them in a handful of snaps. Anyway, I guess hope for progress but absolutely continue to look for DE help. |

I really would like to see him make the team but the problem is that he doesn't seem to have anybody willing to stand on the table for him.
For instance, Toub seems to LOVE Remigio and Cochrane. Spags seems to really like Cochrane and Cam Jones. Reid seems to have a soft spot for {sigh} Skyy Moore. These fringe roster players need to have someone that's going to loudly back them on that cutdown day and to this point I just haven't seen anyone that's really done so for Jacobs. I don't think he's some guy that's going to go somewhere else and make us rue the day we let him go - he's probably going to be lucky to be Drue Tranquill someday. He's never going to be a star player in the league. But I think he belongs and I'd hate to lose him because we have a crush on some OTHER limited LB that I don't think is likely to even develop into part-time starter like Jacobs could. |

Thought I would let this thought start cross my mind, but I’m beginning to wonder if FAU wasn’t an even bigger draft mistake then Sky Moore.
Both have been hugely disappointing. Amazing we have kept being the best team in the NFL when mistakes like this would have killed other franchises. I guess we should be happy. We just made terrible drafting mistakes with these two, but at least we didn’t give up a lot for the draft choices. San Francisco probably Being the worst case scenario in what they gave up for Lance. Lynch is very lucky. He wasn’t fired over that. |
