:13 second game? Wouldn’t matter had Butker missed. Mahomes epic scramble/15 yard ROTP penalty in the AFCCG against Cincy? Means nothing if Butker missed the game winning FG. This last SB? The SF kicker makes the longest FG in SB history. Then Butker turns around and breaks that record. That FG quite possibly was the difference in that SB.

The crazy part is that he’s not making chip shot FGs either. These are relatively long FGs. He is easily one of the most important keys to the three SB wins along with Mahomes, Kelce, and Jones. He is absolutely worth his contract.
And yet Kent Swanson was mildly bitching on the Lab that maybe we could have gone cheap and gotten another kicker after this season. To save what $2-$3M per season? GAHHH.

Half of these podcasters are too young to remember 1995. You find a kicker who can make clutch postseason kicks, you hold on to them for dear life. Imagine the Pats w/o Vinatieri.

He could have easily conveyed the exact same message about it being ok to be a stay at home mom w/o using divisive language like "you've been diabolically lied to" and talking about "other deadly sins" (homosexuality) and no one would have batted an eye. See the Hunt family response earlier in this thread. No one has a problem with any of that.

He chose to make his speech controversial to get attention, and he got the reaction he wanted. Whether you agree with him or not, let's not pretend he was blindsided by all this.

Gostkowski was very good in New England as well. Won 3 rings and made his fair share of clutch kicks. All-time leading scorer for the Patriots. Belichick did a hell of a job finding Vinatieri & Gostkowski back to back.

I said basically the same thing and a bunch of people got all butt hurt over it. I have no idea why.

Not all Catholics think exactly alike just like with any other denomination.

While not a practicing Catholic I was raised Catholic, was an alter boy etc...I don't have an issue with it but clearly he is influenced by his faith above all other things.

That's simply the truth and anyone who gets upset about it, oh well I guess. I truly don't understand why though.

Because people are overly emotional idiots, that's why. We live in a society where everyone thinks their lil' feelings matter a hell of a lot more than they do.

Not really really sure where the "to get attention" is coming from. I mean it was a 3rd rate catholic school graduation. Most could not even say which college it was. I doubt he really thought any speech would blow up like it did. Since then he could have been very vocal and out spoken if all he wanted was attention and really has been pretty much silent. With his platform he could do a lot of things to get attention and has not.

One thing about Butker is hes the most experienced kicker in big games now in the NFL. The moment is not too big for him. We've seen it. We know. Doesn't mean he will make all of em but he is reliable and can be trusted.
