Kelce Brothers Sign Podcast Deal Worth 100mm+

Go Travis Go....

variety.com/2024/digital/news/kelce-brothers-podcast-wondery-new-heights-1236118594/

Jason and Travis Kelce are kicking off a rich new deal with Amazon’s Wondery, which has exclusive ad-sales and distribution rights to the popular “New Heights” weekly podcast hosted by the famous football brothers.

The deal between the Kelce brothers and Wondery, which runs for three years, is worth more than $100 million, according to a source familiar with the pact.

Starting Wednesday (Aug. 28) — timed to beginning of the next NFL season — Wondery has global distribution rights to all audio and video episodes of “New Heights With Jason and Travis Kelce” including the show’s back catalog of all content, as well as rights to create international audio adaptations of the podcast. Wondery has exclusive rights to monetize and distribute audio and video podcast episodes.

I just don't get why podcasts like this are wildly popular. If these guys didn't play in the NFL... not a single soul would give a flying **** about them talking into a can for an hour.

/edit - I mean, good for them an all and I don't begrudge them getting a bag like that but still....

Damn!

I thought about starting a podcast about data science & scraping but after about 5 minutes of YouTube research I said F it. It's already saturated.

Well, I'm happy for them. They needed the money.

I was doing that math, too. This is essentially doubling Travis' football salary. Good work if you can get it.

Because it’s awesome for listening to in a car or when on a walk. Lots of people do football podcasts. But these guys are absolute pros. They’re charismatic as hell and the good ones know how to spice it up. I have a few comedians I listen to on podcast and it’s hella enjoyable. I think the better question is asking why we spent so much time watching or listening to boring radio and tv talk shows where the host has to watch what they say and every interview is scripted with usually a publicist steering the questions.

Conan O’Brien for example… I actually like his podcast better than his tv show

I mean we’ve been listening to sports radio for years. Why would anyone be surprised that this format is excelling when it’s way more specific to specific listener tastes? Even better when listening to guys like this who can make stories about doing laundry interesting
