This is my "meh, who needs a RT" draft using PFF
33. Felix Anudike-Azomah - DE - Bend and burst from the edge 65. Nathaniel Dell - WR - Gadget/separation/Hardman replacement guy 73. Tucker Kraft - TE - Let's extend Kelce's career shall we? 95. Isaiah McGuire - DE - Spags type to round out the edge group 122. Kobie Turner - DT - Juice to make our DT group horrible on passing downs 134. Jacquelin Roy - DT - Lump at NT with possible upside 166. Starling Thomas V - CB - Rapid, just adding to the group to future proof 178. Anthony Johnson - S - As above, also can play CB 217. Jalen Moreno-Cropper - Was thinking Matt Landers but this is too good value. Also v small but great route runner. Might work if Dell really is just too small 249. Trevor Reid - T - Meh suppose we should have a tackle 250. Mohammed Ibrahim - Meh suppose we should have a RB |

This can be fun when you trade up and the board falls in an ideal order…even when it’s unrealistic.

PFN Mock. There's no way Van Ness falls to 31, but **** it, I'll take it. I'd love some input on this draft, I think I hit it really well, only had one minor trade down, but it worked out, IMFO.

The rankings, IMHO, make more sense than PFN, but the layout/end user experience is hot garbage. No player info, really simplistic, etc. Some of the rankings are wild though. I did two quick mocks with them and got WR Addison and DT Bresee at 31 and DT Benton at 63.

The first crack at the ESPN simulator, I made a move up for Broderick Jones when he slipped to 20.

Just a 4-rounder
1.31 Jahmyr Gibbs, RB, Alabama. Maybe, as things shake out, one of the few guys worthy of a round 1 pick in this draft? 2.63 Keanu Benton, DT, Wisconsin. We've talked about him a lot. Nice pick for 2023 and the future. 3.82 Blake Freeland, OT, BYU. Last of this tier, I moved up to make sure I got one. Instant competiton at RT. 4.122 DeMarvion Overshown, LB, Texas. Yes, the Chiefs' LB corps is stacked, but Overshown is a nice long-term prospect at coverage backer (and gives you insurance there if you decide you can't rightly pay Gay or Tranquill). stopped there. But I see the value of this, especially if you're using Gibbs more like Deebo Samuel... |

Not a terrible effort. My thought is that Veach doesn't ever hesitate to pay the third and fourth to take a shot at a premium edge rusher. We have arguably more picks than roster spots, so it makes sense to move up at some point. I think pfns board really falls apart after the third round.
Reciever value wasn't there in the second and the premium athlete at guard to plan for Thuneys departure. |
