*****The Patrick Mahomes Thread*****

IT ****ING HAPPENED

OP UPDATE:

Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy!

8 Passing TDs and 1 Rushing in 2 Playoffs games this year. I couldn't have dreamed up a better QB.

First off, brilliantly sees the coverage.

Second, crazy to watch Mahomes' eyes. He has this moment as he's hesitating where he's looking behind him. I have no idea why. The hesitation was brilliant but I wonder if it was just a happy accident.

Then there's the presence of mind to know you have an extra timeout so you don't have to take the out of bounds. But then having the balls to take on 3 guys.

Then there's the outstanding ballhandling. How does Mahomes not fumble that ball. The Titans were doing a really really good job of jabbing at that ball. They actually stripped the ball as Mahomes went into the end zone and Mahomes does an outstanding job of securing it. Crazy to think that could easily have been a really costly turnover.

What a crazy play in so many ways.
That was no accident, that was a deek from the courts/ice.

I live in LA and my wife saw a guy wearing a Mahomes T-Shirt. She yelled "CHIEEEEEEFS" at him and they chatted for a minute. (Which I love because she is from NY and I've dragged her into football fandom) She said I was from Lee's Summit and he had a blank look on his face. She asked if he was from KC and he said "no". He is an LA native.

Having lived out here 14 years I have NEVER encountered a someone in KC gear that wasn't either from KC or wearing it for fashion. This dude just chose to be a Chiefs fan because of our quarterback. The fact that it is specifically a Mahomes shirt means he would have had to order it. I don't know if this will mean as much to those living in KC, but this blew me away.

We're going to be the next Patriots. Mostly thanks to #15. People across the country are going to love us and then hate us. Can't wait.

We have to be careful. We don't have a big window, only about 21 or 22 years to go on a run.

Mahomes likes to run over guys into the end zone.

He may only last 12 or 13 years.

I've met a few Chiefs fans who were LA natives. Usually they were a Joe Montana fan then got into the Chiefs when he went to KC.

I haven't met any new Mahomes bandwagon fans yet.

Pees was dragged out of retirement when Vrabel got the job. He was good for them, but this was probably a given no matter what happened at the end of this season. When you've had enough, you've had enough, and if you've had enough prior to getting back into it for more, you've REALLY had enough.

Crennel, on the other hand, is kind of comical. I get Romeo runs an antiquated scheme, but he's pretty good, and when your offense has those WRs, that should typically be good enough. The Texans are totally missing the boat by not firing Bill O'Brien.

Whatever, though. I'll gladly keep Bill in Houston. Let him waste more years with that core of players.

In any case, yes. "Well, we can't have our defenses giving up 41 unanswered..."

Mahomes is going to get a LOT of coaches fired in the next several seasons.
