Jags Sign Tebow

Jaguars signed TE Tim Tebow to a one-year contract.

The deal isn't 'official' just yet but will be in the next week or so. Tebow, 33, hasn't played in a regular-season game in nine years and will be attempting to change positions once he does make it to camp. It's another wacky (albeit fun) move that brings Meyer's tenure into question after the organization also added a first-round running back and drafted multiple injured players. There is no competition among Jacksonville's tight ends if Tebow does somehow sneak onto the 53-man roster.

I think it's more that some people just can't tolerate a "Goody Two-Shoes" or a "Teacher's Pet".

That personality type has always conflicted with other personality types. It rubs people the wrong way. That's always been a thing since grade school even.

I know people love to hate him. How could you not with the ridiculous espn hype years ago. But I can't help but root for the guy. The guy flat out loves football. He is the definition of an all world football guy put in the wrong body I still remember watching him mic'd up in Denver managing the huddle during a comeback win. The dude is off the charts in leadership.

His baseball stint reminds me of Jordan. Just an average baseball player that worked his ass off to an elite level to become respectable.

Even if it's just a PR stunt I hope he does well.

He loves football so much he refused to move to a more natural position and then idiotically attempted to play a different sport?

GTFO.

Yep.

People tear down "too bad", and tear down "too good".

I think some people have problems admitting their might actually be good people in the world, and therefore, want them to fail.

It wasn't about his religion. Maybe some people liked him for his religion, but I think most were just taken by how intense he was playing college football and wanted to believe that intensity/grit/determination blah blah blah would win the day. There were enough of them that they were quite vocal.

An equal number of football fans were like, "Lol nah brah he's not an NFL QB GTFO." That only encouraged and hyped up the believers. You had one or two guys in the media like Skip Bayless who talked about him nonstop, and when networks saw how polarizing that was, they capitalized. The NFL got in on it, and before you knew it, Tebow was all anybody talked about when he was the starting QB in Denver. Supporters said, "Look, he's winning games! See!!?" and detractors said, "He has a career 45% completion percentage! See!!?" Both sides thought they were right and were adamant the other side was wrong.

Religion had very little to do with it. It may have started things off, but it wasn't significant in turning the Tebow thing into an enormous dumpster fire that held the NFL hostage for a year or so.

I'm not going to be surprised if Thkkyyyyiup says on his show today that he still believes in Tebow because "his heart, courage, work ethic are unlike anything I've ever seen.... you're a fool if you count this man out because he will make you pay.... blah blah blah blah"

That's why people hate on Tebow. Because it's not just media. There are legit NFL fans who believe that crap.

If you all want to waste your time, here's a little blog from 2014 when the Patriots cut Tebow and nobody was giving him another chance after that. At first I thought this was satire. Nope. The writer is actually serious. He never turns the joke over because there is no joke. He actually believes Tebow was slighted by the NFL and that all of his numbers adequately back up why he should have been starting somewhere.

This is why people like me unfortunately hated Tim Tebow. Because these kinds of fire-breathing morons were EVERYWHERE from the moment he got drafted to after Denver traded him. Actually, I don't remember if they traded him. I think they did, but it's possible they straight up cut him

They traded him to the Jets for a 4th, 6th and they paid half his money I think.
