A twist on the mock exercise.

The mock draft machine on TheDraftNetwork.net is really solid.

But the AP Lab suggested one way you can really dig into prospects is by playing around with the mock draft machine -- and banning yourself from selecting the top 5 prospects left on the board. You can only start from 6 on downward.

Post a mock or two where you try that exercise, right here in this thread.

I went 4 rounds just because of those two 4th round picks.

31.

Greg Newsome II
CB,
63.

Josh Myers
IOL,
94.

Tylan Wallace
WR,
136.

Walker Little
OT,
144.

Jonathon Cooper
EDGE,

That makes it tough because each time I was up, there was at least two players in the top 5 picks that I would have been happy with.

I pretty much do this every time.

I refuse to make unrealistic picks when I’m doing the simulators.

A rough round 1 when I had to axe:

22. Alijah Vera-Tucker, IOL, USC
29. Gregory Rousseau, ER, Miami
31. Zaven Collins, LB, Tulsa
33. Kadarius Toney, WR, Florida

I would take any of the 4.

Also, notably, had to pass on Tylan Wallace at 94.

So here's mine...

31. SS Trevon Moehrig, TCU
63. OC Josh Myers, Ohio State
94. ER Patrick Jones II, Pittsburgh
136. CB Ambry Thomas, Michigan
144. WR Dazz Newsome, North Carolina
176. DT Bobby Brown III, Texas A&M
180. WR Cornell Powell, Clemson
252. OG/C Ryan McCollum, Texas A&M

It's so tough to tell this year.

Everyone's got guys two or three rounds apart in some cases.

For example, I've seen Rashad Weaver anywhere from mid 2nd to late 4th. I mean, what the ****?

Actually I really like that draft, despite who you passed on.

I feel like the board set up pretty nicely for me with these picks:

1) Jalen Mayfield, OT, Michigan
