Unbelievable, eating a combined $85 million cap hit the next 2 years to get rid of a guy.

2024: $39M cash, $35.4M cap hit
2025: Zero cash, $49.6M cap hit

he's still a legend in Denver for beating the Chiefs in the regular season, ending an epic 16 or 17 game? streak? Probably should get a statue in Denver for that.

Now that this is official, it'll be fascinating to see where he goes next. Obviously he's been bad in Denver, but another team can realistically get him for next to nothing since his contract is basically entirely being paid by the Broncos.

Have to agree. If reports are true, we don’t need a mega diva on the bench.

But it might help to have someone shouting 'run' or 'pass' when the defense is on the field.

I would think his agent will try to double dip with a pretty good amount of money with his next team. Russell and the agent have never been willing to give anyone a discount in the past. Just ask Pete Carroll, lol

With their cap space, it may be a quarterback who has never ridden on a plane before, so it'll be very exciting for him.

As fast as I understand, you can't double dip like that. Whatever he gets from his new team is subtracted from the Broncos' obligations.

How did the NFL not CP3/Lakers that trade? You'd have to be pretty stupid to think short/fat Russ was worth THAT much draft capital. I get that lazy football idiots "liked" the trade, but that was primarily due to them being lazy idiots (and not understanding anything about football or Russ' fairly CLEAR trajectory).

I suppose we should simply be glad it happened and that the donx doubled down on their idiocy with the contract.
