Congratulations!
You will enjoy it. I don't think you need to rush into a new activity, unless you are already involved with some project and would like to be more involved. No need to commit yourself to some situation where somebody expects you to show up. They aren't the boss of you. You are. |

My wife told me she is giving me 6 weeks of grace to decompress and relish retirement. Then she says the "honey-do" list is fair game. |

Congrats Mosbonian. I am not retired but I have spent enough time with retired people to give one piece of advice: Have some kind of well-rounded exercise regimen that you prioritize every week as if your life depended on it.

I'm about 5 years into retirement and have made 'puttering' an art form. A series of low key household projects sprinkled liberally with internet perusal, the planet, word puzzles, etc.
A couple years after I started working, the plant manger for our manufacturing facility retired after 35 years there. He was the original manager of the plant - it was pretty much his baby and he had poured a lot of effort into it. Anyway, about months after he retired, the office got a call from his wife, asking, "Is there anything Bob can do out there? Anything?" lol |

Wondering at what point my wife will be calling someone to come take me off her hands....or get me away from "fixing " things. |

stay busy, those that retire and don't have hobbies or stay busy struggle and many die soon after. So, find something that stimulates you and keeps you busy, truly have a bucket list and try to check it off, and live long and prosper...
